Its been one fail after another with this device. Anything I do with it results in a brick. I am running clean rom and before I used mobile Odin to flash back to stock everything worked.

I hope I just missed a setting but with previous notes gone, its unreliable now. And I just ordered an extra battery and charger.

AOKP is supposed to be solid for the Note 2.

Click on releases. Look for build 5. Said to have retained SPen functionality.

I used clean rom 1.5 se before and no problems. Now, all of a sudden, I have problems. I got it to pull up s note when I pull the pen out now, but the full menu don't show and the pen icon does not show nor does the shortcuts in the notification bar.

Come to think about it, I have had various issues with various roms on various samsung devices.

The biggest issue is the bricks I get on my Note 2 after attempting much of anything.

Once again, less of an issue with the SIII's.

I think this may be my last samsung device...

Hey all.. brand new S3 owner, come straight from Iphone so i am a total novice. All i will say is its a hell of a lot better than an iphone. Can do so much more.. better and faster.. Debatable who gets in the bed night.. dog or phone.. lol..

Think i got it set up well enough. Feel free to provide any hints or tips.. anything you recommend turned on/off.. any recommended downloads etc.. Grabbed quickpic over stock gallery. but everything else is stock.

Getting it now.

One thing does confuse me.. I've got an CD card and 16gig internal memory.. got tons and tons of space. Yet my RAM seems to take a huge hit on apps so far.. are they saving to ram rather than memory?
 
Settings/application/downloaded. Check every app piece by piece and set it to sd memory instead of phone memory. Same in your camera app settings.

And get ES File Explorer. Can be quite handy.

Did you bring beer? I'm starting to run low. :p

If you fancy a trade off from some sammy features, you can try Nova launcher, much more customisable than Stock. Also maybe GoSMS as a replacement SMS app.

Don't worry about the RAM, this is essentially a Linux system, not windows. All you need to know as far as this goes, can be summed up in 5 words. "free RAM is wasted RAM" ;)

There doesnt appear to be an option to move to SD memory.. i read you can't do that on S3??

I'll grab ES File Explorer though ;)

Is go sms better than sms pop up which i'm currently using? the pop up feature i love.

Does Nova launcher just install over the top of touchwiz?

You cant move apps to SD but you can set the camera app to save pics to the SD (however burst mode pics will ALWAYS save to the internal storage) there maybe a few other apps that ask you where to store files, though.
