Nexican
So with Nexus devices (Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10), the screen size includes those virtual/software buttons. When those buttons are on screen, the screen size for content is diminished by its presence. However, as app developers respond properly to this new reference of how an Android app should be coded, apps which are able to detect virtual/software buttons will hide those buttons when a full screen is the desired outcome.Hey,random question..you know how on the nexus devices, the buttons are on the actual screen, does that mean the screen is not actually 7 inches,or 4.7?
For example, on my Nexus 4 and 7, like my GNex before it, the YouTube app hides the "Navigation Bar" (virtual/software buttons), as it is more commonly known, so that the entirety of the device's screen is utilized. So in these preferred and delightful use cases, the screen size quoted is actualized as should be expected.
Hope this clears things up for you.
