i live in greece and my device is from germany i think. i run on 4.0.4. since i got it i had notification for the software update but i didnt want to update to jb. i was wondering when the 4.2.2 will come out..

There hasn't been an announcement on 4.2 yet, just that the gs3 will get it.

4.1.2 not long ago rolled out. Could be months up the road before we see an official 4.2

I've got no complaints for 4.1.2 on my end, I'd say go for it

Its quicker than ics, it protects international versions against motherboard replacement and you'd need it to get 4.2 via ota or kies anyway. Id say go for it

Just go to Settings, About Device, System Update, Check for updates. I think Greece should have 4.1.2 by now :thumbup:

Depends on the size and your data speed but id say half an hour MAX. what did the phone say when u checked for the update?

I never took the official update but I'm thinking its around 160mb

Hello again. It updated ok after half an hour about.
But i have one problem. Everytime i unlock the screen or open an app, a red frame is flashing rapidly on all the screen..
Anyone knows anything?

Not sure. Thought it was "Strict mode" after a quick google... Needs reboot I think after turning off strict mode.
