it's good to know that I can count on there not being anything good to read when i wake up and there are only 4 new pages since last night

Went to the Wireless Technology Today expo at UPenn. Only had time to be there for 5 minutes before class, but went directly to the HTC booth. The rep was friendly and the first thing he showed was the Incredible. He had TWO of them!I held it in my hand! Compared to the Eris it's almost exactly the same size. The screen is GORGEOUS and it is flippin fast. The rep confirmed May, though of course with the Verizon site and the BBuy leak, who's to know?

I tried to check the About Phone, but all I got was hardware version 0002 (interesting) and of course Android 2.1.

Not that it really matters but I feel it's also noteworthy. My girlfriend went with me, and he mude sure to point out that her Eris was officially getting the 2.1 leak at the end of the month. He had an Eris that had a 2.1 version different than her v.2 leak! I'm very excited for end of April!

I have a picture of the register ticket from the event. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the Incredible, but honestly, I would either be called shopper or something. It looks great, and it's completely real.

Have any of you wondered what happened to the Verizon Nexus One? The DROID Incredible might just be a substitute for it: they share too many things in common for it not to be like that. Hit up the link if you guys like, there isn't going to be any Incredible news (LMAO!) for a while now. Heck, even store managers tell me it's gonna be a little quiet for all you fans. f course if there's some leaks then that's different, but Verizon should be contacting me regarding some press shots. Yee-haw!

Could The HTC DROID Incredible Be Verizon’s Nexus One? Probably, yes - LaptopMemo

UPDATE: Of course this only adds to confusion. But anyways, DROID Incredible FTW. I just returned a Nexus one review unit and it feels so bland right now.

I know this was already addressed at some point in the previous 733 pages but I was hoping someone could tell me what is the best Class of Micro SD card for the incredible. Class 2, 4, 6? Once again sorry for asking but if someone knows off the top of their head it would save me a little time.

Dont know if anyone has posted this info yet. but I emailed Verizon to find out about availabilty, discounts, pre orders ect. This is the response I got back.

Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless through our website. My name is L***s and I would like to thank you for contacting us regarding the release of the Incredible. Getting a new phone with very Verizon Wireless can be a wonderful and exciting time. I know the importance of knowing when you can take advantage of this new device on our 3G network. It would be my pleasure to assist you with your inquiry.

The Incredible hasn’t been released with Verizon Wireless and if the phone is going to be released. It will be released first online at www.verizonwireless.com, and here you will be able to take advantage of the two-year pricing, instant rebate, or New Every Two discount. Once the phone was released in the stores, then you would be able to take advantage of the same promotions. (Stores don’t have instant rebates, they offer mail in rebates) It has not been stated weather that customers will be able to pre order the phone. I would recommend to keep checking the website.

I see on your line ending in 9627, that you have the New Every Two discount that gives you up to a $100.00 off a promotional priced phone. Additionally, every existing customer has the flexibility to change their service to any qualifying calling plan or airtime promotion at any time to meet their specific needs. These changes do not require a new wireless phone number or start up fees.
If you were enrolled in the New Every Two program on or after February 15, 2009, and you were on a price plan between $34.99 - $79.98 monthly access for at least the last three months; then your next New Every Two upgrade will qualify you to receive up to an extra $30.00 off the promotional price for a new phone. If your price plan is $79.99 monthly access and higher, the extra discount will be up to $50.00 off. Listed below are the steps to take the upgrade online, when the time comes.

In summary I have advised that we haven’t released the Incredible, but once release then you will be able to take advantage of all your discounts online or in the store. I hope this information was helpful.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to assist you. I make it my goal to provide you with an excellent customer service experience and thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless.

Sincerely,
L***s

Question,

Why do people keep saying that Incredible will have a price of $199 for a 2-year contract?

Right now, I am in the Verizon website, and the Droid retails at $559.99, the price with a 2-year contract is $299.99

If Incredible retails at $599.99 (more than Droid), then why would the phone have a $199.99 2-year contract (-$100.00 less than Droid).

Or is this price for the Droid in my case only, and varies for everyone?

So I came across this article and it really doesnt state anything new but one line near the end caught my interest..It seemed like an odd typo so I was wondering if anyone else saw anything along these lines...

HTC Droid Incredible details leaked / The Christian Science Monitor - CSMonitor.com

The quote was:
The ad posted to the Verizon site showed a release date of Thursday, April 21 for the HTC Droid Incredible.

now I could see if the 1 was a typo for 9 but Thursday instead of Friday? Did anyone else see anything along these lines or does this article just suck that much at collecting info?

. . . It looks great, and it's completely real.

So the breaking news of an earthquake in PA is untrue? It is actually just a stampede of folks from here racing to the expo to mob the poor HTC booth? :D

If only I could make it there and back by 3:00! :)

It also doesn't mention 802.11 b/g/n, does that mean it won't have Wifi? It doesn't mention Multi-Touch, or 32GB microSDHC support, or an Optical Trackpad, or a G-sensor, or Accellerometer, or POP3 email support....

This is an EXTREMELY limited set of specs.. NOWHERE near a full listing...

Here is a question or problem we haven't talked or adressed. With the VERY HIGH DEMAND for this phone do you think people will be camping out infront of Verizon Stores or stalking all the websites that will offer the phone. What is everyones battleplan to get this phone in their hands come release day!! I would hate to see anyone who has been on this forum this long not get the phone but it is a possibility :(
At this point without an official announcement that isn't taken offline within 2hrs of being posted, I think we still need to wait and see what the distribution is going to be like. If I can get it in a Verizon store, I'll go and wait early in the morning, just because they are a bit more competent than Best Buy's smurfs when it comes to Verizon contracts.

If we're allowed to pre-order online and I can get guaranteed release day delivery by 10am I'll pre-order online.

299.99 with 100 dollar mail in rebate to make 199.99.

Active-matrix OLED displays provide higher refresh rate than their passive-matrix OLED counterparts, and they consume significantly less power.[3] This advantage makes active-matrix OLEDs well suited for portable electronics, where power consumption is critical to battery life. The amount of power the display consumes varies significantly depending on the color and brightness shown. "For example, our measurement shows that a commercial QVGA OLED display consumes 3 and 0.7 Watts showing black text on a white background and white text on a black background, respectively."[4]

If you were a TRUE geek, you would have went to settings and storage to see what app space showed free- that would nip the 8gb mystery in the bud in regards to if any of it is allocated for apps space ;)

If free app space is around 200 megs (no)

If free app space greater than 500 megs (yes) I say "500" since that clears the rom as a factor and is simple to check ;)

Added: Best Buy and Wallyworld tend to be cheaper than Verizon and do instant rebates, rather than the lame mail-in process. Also, if you do not like it, no need to mail and wait for credit :) I will wait, rather than mail-order. If Inc is $300, I will get the Droid for cheap and wait on the Shadow (Droid 2) later in the year :)

Hey everyone.
I work at Geeksquad in Bestbuy. I know the mobile guys quite well and I have used the NE2 to upgrade my wife's phone to an Eris from her Dare using the NE2. So yes they will use it. I picked up the sku for the Incredible and I am going to check it out tonight in our inventory system. I will post what I find out.
