64GB Micro SD Card

Has anyone successfully used a 64GB sdcard? I'm thinking of trying one. I heard people using them on the S2. I'm pretty sure it will work, just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Believe it or not, my 32GB card is about two gigs away from being full. Lots of photos and music

64gb cards are SDXC and 32gb and lower are SDHC ( theres an extra pin/contact for sdxc cards)

I know they did work for the Galaxy S2. I assume it had the extra pin?

It's a matter of the memory controller.

I doubt you'll have a problem, check with others, some seem to be saying that you don't want just the standard UHS-1 type if you go with SDXC on a Samsung, you also want it class-rated.

I THINK the biggest factors are this:

Reputable sellers:

IF you buy a card from someone on Ebay, make SURE they are a good seller. There are times where people have bought a "64" and turns out...it was really a 2GB or lower card.

Formatting:

Make sure that you format the card in fat32. That should work fine.

Really the disclaimer is to cover themselves. "We haven't tried it so we won't promise it will work" sort of deal

Definitely. I learned several years ago to never cheap out on SDcards.

I have seen several cases where a device was specified to support "up to 32GB" but in fact supported 64GB. I didn't think this phone would be much different than the S2 since that phone supported 64GB, but just thought it wouldn't hurt to toss this out there to be sure

I notice Sandisk Class 10 64GB has quite a few more negative reviews on Amazon than the Kingston Class 10 64GB.. ?

Sounds good. I've had good luck with Sandisk too just thought I'd ask after seeing the bad reviews on the 64GB. Are you using the 64GB?

I'm using a 32 atm. However all my cameras use sandisk. I've used sandisk for nearly a decade now.
