This is looking bad for 720p. If it had it, they'd be bragging about it...

Remember if you purchase it at the Verizon store you have to cut the UPC off of the box to get the $100 mail in rebate. This then does not allow you to return the phone under the 30 day worry free. So if you wait the 30 days then the 2-6 weeks to get the rebate card that is longer then if you purchase at BB or online and get the instant rebate and can still return the phone for 30 days and BB has no restocking fee.

Not that anyone is palnning on returning it

In the past, if you had cut the UPC, you could still return w/in 30 days, BUT they wouldn't give you full credit (they would keep $100 for the rebate). Has this policy changed?

Wouldn't they be talking about DVD quality capture if it were there too? We already know that the Desire has 800x480 video capture right out of the box with a 5MP camera, and they were alluding to 720p coming with a future update... this thing must do at least DVD quality, so thy wouldn't they mention anything at all? They certainly made mention of it with the DROID.

At this point I would like to hear what BB and VZW CSR's have to say about the best method to physically have this phone in my hands on the 29th...

Can I go into VZW on the 19th and "preorder" so that I can pick it up from VZW on the 29th?.. which actually sounds more like reserving than preordering...

Should I show up early and stand at the front door waiting for open on the 29th?

That's HTC's marketing for that.

If you've seen the HD2 commercials they have the phone in between "Y" and "U" so the phone essentially is an "O"
