Root ok getting ready to root which guide to use?

ok i give... lol how am i making this nandroid backup and saving it sry i know its gotta be like pulling teeth at this point
 
ok so i did the nandroid recovery saved it to sdcard in the root automatically. I copied the nandroid file to my hard drive. went back to the recovery and wiped the cache, devlik cache, system file, and the other file mention above and went to reboot. got nothing htc evo 4g screen. went back to recovery reloaded the nandroid backup and saved the mikg rom to root. went back into boot loader and cleared the same 4 files and rebooted again. no dice what am i missing thanks in advance
 
Ok got it. went smoked a cigarette and pressed buttons and loaded mikg when i came back after doing a proper wipe. thanx for the advice ocn it was all there in the posts. Youtube has tutorials that can be a huge help

the only thing you can't do with the HTCdev method is bootloader flash PC36IMG files. these are files that are generic in name but is used to flash radios, recoveries, splash screens, bootanimations, and ruu's. you can technically flash the PC36IMG file provided that they are signed by HTC. but, most of those files are not.....however there are other ways to accomplish it depending on what you need to do......if that makes sense....LOL

fortunately the htc og evo has it easy. for the htc evo 4g lte, there is a much bigger devide between the comfort of having s-off vs s-on, unlocked.

so it is up to you how you want to go. either way we can steer you in the right direction if you need it.

About that PC36IMG file....is it your recovery file? You could just rename it to PC36IMG.zip.bak.
I would think that would suffice. :)
Like I said, I dont know why the rom would instruct you to remove it.
Perhaps Ocn will chime in later, and I will also look at the rom instructions for you also.
Give me some time...I'm about to leave work to go home my friend :thumbup:
 
ok the ubersonic is just a rom. there is no PC36IMG file that you need. it just mentions that if you have a PC36IMG file to remove it, before going into the bootloader. now if you still have the file leftover from flashing your recovery or radios then you can just either delete it or rename it.

just remember to make a nandroid backup before doing anything then wipe and flash the rom.
 
Ok we'll formatting the 64gb sd card I hope it works if not does anyone know where I would look the try to format that lil guy I would still like to use it on this device 32gb is kinda small time when compared to 64 :). Either way once I try that I will be on to wiping the evo and flashing that rom non of which I quite remember how to do but I'll let you know as I go.


Btw like your colors tooooo. Congrats..
