Root Camera freezes constantly

Since rooting this phone, my stock camera freezes constantly. I thought it might be something I removed/changed, so I tested with my wife's stock unrooted phone. Rooted hers, & her camera freezes constantly as well. Tried 3 different stock camera apps, they all freeze. We prefer the stock apps 'cuz most 3rd party cameras are missing features, or are too complicated.

I have had the same problem on stock rooted D, E, F, and TCR 3.0.1

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.

Factory reset and it will be fixed.

Did that, multiple times. Nothing changed. It might have to do with Vista :banghead: being the worst OS in recent memory.

After I couldn't get the unbrick to work on Vista, I unbricked & re-rooted my phone using parallels and Windows 8 on my mac. Camera seems to be working fine now.

I know this has been awhile, but I recently read someone's post on a different phone that changing the build.prop to fool Play Store made their camera act up. My build.prop said I had a Nexus 4, so I changed mine back to stock and it didn't help. My camera still freezes most of the time.

So I tried factory resetting again. Home button doesn't work. I first reset it through CWM. When the home button didn't work, I tried again through stock settings. Dumb thing still doesn't work. So it looks like I get to choose between having a sometimes working camera, and a never working home button. :(
