That sucks for me too, but in an online chat with "Carl" from BB, I was told this:

3:38 PM Carl: I would check with the store to see if it's a pre-order, or if you can actually leave with it on Sunday.

3:38 PM Carl: You should be able to pre-order it in any Best Buy.

Edit: Oh, and one more thing. He wasn't even aware of the Inc until I sent him the link, and when asked if I get the phone and walk out on the 18th, he said it wasn't clear to him. FWIW
 
looks like it only best buy specialty stores for phones there none in Washington suck for me looks like i wont get it i hope they bring it to the best buy near my location i want the phone now
 
Alright all of you knowledgeable Best Buy people. I have a question. Excuse me if this has already been answered.

The Best Buy Pre-sale starts the 18th. So, does that mean that we can walk into a Best Buy and sure enough buy the phone on the 18th? Cause if that's the case and my NE2 works there and all of the other rebates work there, I'll get mine on the 18th. Anonimac, you may even know the answer to this. Thanks in advance.
 
I was pretty busy today so I've probably missed something Anon posted but I'll have to check that later when I get home. :(

Anyway, after work I ran over to the local Best buy to ask when the demo/dummy units were going to be out. And I pretty much got :confused: from the sales chic in the phone dept. Fail.

Headed over to the verizon store across the lot and asked the same and:eek: the CSR told me that the HTC rep had just left the store :D!! He said that he has already had his training on it and HAS ACTUALLY HELD IT IN HIS HAND....(i refrained from asking to touch/smell/taste his hand). He said it is the most awesome phone he has every had the priveledge of playing with even though it was a fairly short amount of time. He said this phone is going to be the biggest thing that nobody knows about (except us right ;)) and he it expects it to explode on the mobile phone scene like a sleeping giant (don't forgrt, he is a verizon CSR FWIW) Anyway he said that the dummy/demo units should be out very soon (@VZWOffers anyone?)

I also asked if the renewal price would be comperable to the new contract price and he said that I should expect them to be about the same price.

Anywho, thats my incredible story.

Oh and by the way, I came up with a name for our little group...

so, now for the real question.. if i go into best buy and they do the instant $100 rebate(like they usually do), + have my ne2 (which has been up since freaking september), will i walk out paying only $99 for the phone otd?
 
how long do you think it will be until one could walk into a verizon store and purchase the phone without being on the preorder list?

Folks, please stop stressing, and for that matter, commenting on the thread being closed, the fate of the thread, etc... With or without this thread, the community continues and this is not the beginning of the end, quite the contrary, this is only the end of the beginning. A new chapter for us all awaits and it will be even more exciting than you can imagine...:cool:

I am taking this to mean you can pre- ORDER it on the 18th.....

And look on the bright side, it'll be easier to find the info we need...and we were told we can still have an OT section to "hang out". Best of everything. :)

I would like that except someone posted page 2 of the Best Buy contract and it states you have to pay back the savings if you do one of a large number of "offenses" including changing the number. I have no idea why they would make that an issue since Verizon has always been very accommodating about swapping numbers in the past and they even make it super easy for us to do ourselves, yet there it was. That alone will keep me away from Best Buy pre-order. I'll wait the day and make sure I don't have to pay extra.

First of all, thanks to Anonimac and all the wonderful people who have contributed to this thread.

Second, as previous posts have said: this thread will shut down when the phone is released BUT a new Incredible Owners thread will be started to discuss it there.
