Root i want to get rid of beats audio

I saw a thread on how to do it on another site but the option in settings-->apps--->all apps is not longer there. I don't use it, and I hate how the icon pops up in my status bar even when it's not in use.

If you go under Settings / Apps / All Apps Tab, scrool down until you find "HtcBeatsNotify". Select that, and select "Disable".

That should stop the notification from showing. Not sure if it will mess with the functions of Beats Audio though.

I'm on stock right now, I'm rooted with s-off. Granite, thanks for the info but that's not there in all apps for me.

well the only things that i can think of then is to use tb to freeze beats audio or even delete it, you can try other roms to flash, or just try a wipe of dalvik cache and cache and see if that fixes the issue.

Turn it off and then freeze the notifier.

Beats is wired all the way down to the kernel, personally I wouldn't mess with it below the notifier.

If you take out other apps, there's an excellent chance to screw up process signaling.

ah yes that is right about the kernel, i forgot it went that deep. then i would suggest in trying to do a partial wipe(dalvik cache and cache) or do a full wipe and then flash a rom of your choice as i think that custom roms are sooooo much better then stock. try viper or if you want something different then pacman which is an aosp rom.

How do I freeze the notifier? I'm sorry if that sounds like a dumb question :/ How do I turn it off?

you will have to search the system partition for a beats notification. i'm not sure where it would be at or if there is an apk for it. beats is very much intertwined thru out the phone so it might be difficult finding it. again i think that it would be much easier to flash a rom rather then to try and troubleshoot this on a stock rom. i guarantee you that either meanbean or viper are much better roms then stock. you will most likely not have this issue any more.

and one last thing, have you tried the beats notifier disabler that dreadnatty linked? might be worth trying if you insist on being on stock.

just remember to make a nandroid backup before doing anything.
