Sandisk Finally Admits Fault for SD failure

Or sandisks fault with new samsung phones.
fair play to Sandisk though, replacing it without you having to send the faulty one. I like companys like that

I have 2 32gb San disk cards, one for my tablet and one for my phone. My first one recently died so I replaced it with a 32gb Samsung card.
I emailed san disk about this 2 days ago and are sending me a free replacement without me having to return the original.

Didn't they ask for a proof of purchase? My friend's SanDisk died just recently, didn't keep any receipt as he never experienced similar issues. I thought he was busted. Is there a way to contact them?

I guess i'll just wait until they get the problem fixed before i waste my money on the card.

The trouble is.. unless we buy directly from Sandisk, how are we gona know which SDs have this "fix"?
Amazon (for example) probably has 10000s of the things in stock from before the fix. Big vendors like that make their money from having the resources to buy and store huge quantities in bulk

I think if you still have warranty (2yrs for most cards) you can return it to sandisk for a full replacement. I bought mine a year ago and just returned one through warranty and got a replacement... the replacement has been working fine w/o any issues.

Yeah but thats the same situation we've been in all along mate. Getting a replacement isnt the problem, losing data is. I meant how can we know if we're getting an Sd with the "fix" that Sandisk said they were gona apply?

It's funny that we all never thought that the microsd was the problem. My Sansdisk died when I put it in my GS3 and so I replaced it with a Samsung microsd and I've been fine ever since November.

Aaaaughhh you just jinxed it mate :p:)

I lost two Sandisk cards a number of months ago. A 32g and a 16g. I ended up buying a different brand 16g card (don't remember which, but don't feel like taking my case off to see) and it's worked fine.

Damn Sandisk... I wonder what their "fix" is? Won't do me any good since both of my cards were tossed in the trash looong ago.

Is quoting yourself akin to talking to yourself? I digress...

My "different brand 16g card" I mentioned above just crapped the bed. Turns out it's a PNY 16g SDHC Class 10. Everything that was on it is gone. Fortunately, I don't trust any card and have been backing up regularly. I just hate having to buy replacement cards on a regular basis.

I don't care what anyone says... my GS3 eats cards. At some point it's "really" going to piss me off and I'll replace it with something else. Between it's card eating issues and crappy radios, I gotta believe I'll get some other brand. Maybe I'll head back to Motorola.
