i believe that not all best buy's have a mobile department where you can upgrade to a phone. so a best buy mobile store is just a bestbuy that has this, most of them near me have it.
 
Yea, sounds like it may just be Best Buy Mobile stores and not regular Best Buy's. That's weak...we don't have any of the Mobile variety in Norcal.

yeah, i searched for a BB mobile store in Norcal, and they dont exist! :mad:

my local BB has a mobile department tho...:confused::confused::confused:
 
I live near both a Best Buy and a Best Buy Mobile (which yes is further away). I'm going to actually physically go to them tomorrow and find out what I can. Probably won't be reporting the info back to here until about 5pm Eastern.

If someone finds out before then...well...you'll save me 2 trips!!!

You can go ahead and order on your mom's line (online) and then when you receive it, they can activate it and change it to your number. If you lookup posts by viperboy (I'm pretty sure that's his full screen name), he explains it in detail and assured us all that it was a commonplace thing to do. So your Mom and keep her phone, and you can get your Inc. But it'd be worth trying to find his post. Probably 150 pages back now but that advanced search using his screen name (and they auto suggest with registered users so you'll find him) and search for alternate upgrade.

I think the consensus is that BB DOES do NE2 or new contracts but NOT annual upgrades or any other "special VZW pricing" (like the featurephone to smartphone upgrade). Rebates are generally immediate, 30 day return to the store, after that you deal w/ VZW directly either via phone, store or online.

Did I miss anything here folks?

Nope. All you have to do is call VZW and tell them what you want done. They handle it all on their end without going into the store.

People were asking about this and I am too, but it looks like the evergreen and the launch guide answered it...... VZ Navigator (which totally blows) available via Android Marketplace. Doesn't that mean I/we get the fantastic and free Google Maps via the Marketplace also???
 
I just called the 888-BESTBUY number to get more info about the pre-sale v pre-order stuff.

While the kind woman did indeed say BBY has both "pre-sale" and "pre-order", she also told me the people in the mobile department had gone home at 11EST and I would have to wait until they returned tomorrow to get additional information, as she did not know the specifics.
 
I have been up since 4 am.....just now trying to catch up but my eyes keep closing as I roll through all the wit and wisdom....and then I see "you can get the Incredible on the 18th from BB".....you wouldn't be jerking an old women around would you????
 
To you BB folks in the know.

If I upgrade from a dumbphone to the Inc. thru BB mobile do they:

1. sell Inc and upgrade my phone plan / activate phone there right away.

or

2. sell Inc. I take it home and upgrade cell plan thru calling Vz or online and activate myself at that time as well

?
 
People in the chat room are saying BB wont have the phones in stock until the 25th so that would kill the idea of the pre sale being available on the 18th....
