Help Text problems

My nexus 4 is on straight talk, and I'm using the stock texting app. When I receive a message that has more than 160 characters they come in all mixed up, like the last part of the text comes in first and its just totally out of order. I've reset the app to no avail, any help would be appreciated.

That's a network issue rather than a problem with the phone.

over 160 and it sends it like mms. do you have trouble with pic messages?
