Official EVO Rumors and Speculation thread

It's akin to video game development, delayed games tend to be the most polished, enjoyable experiences in comparison to any rushed product.

I'm gonna be waiting for Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 when the third Evo is coming out :D

As much as we all want more info, nothing that comes out will make June 6/13th come any faster.

U can add tv out to the list of things the incredible will do compared to evo I wonder if Vz waited to announce for so long cause they were waiting for sprint to tip they're hand on what the evo featured and tried to add as many comp features as possible without crippling they're network... note to sprint : I can't understand how a phone that's been in the works for appx 2 yrs is still unfinished??

Well the tv out for the incredible doesn't appear to be the same as the evo. it's not hdmi so it's not quite the same....still under speced as far as i can see.

I think way too many people underestimate what it really takes to bring a phone from the drawing board to launch. Of course, its always easy to say, whats really so hard about it, if you're not in the industry.

When there are so many people and different companies invovled, it does take a lot longer. Things have to get approved, talking to vendors, things are rejected, going back to revise, so on and so forth. Its not like you can just buy an off the shelf component and stick it in a generic case like you do with a PC since many components have standards like measurements and such. Just throwing this out there for many people thinking you just grab some parts from the parts bin and glue it together and call it a day.

Without a doubt still underspeced... but that hdmi issuance can be fixed with a dock of some sort I'd think.. Just one more feature that can help people justify not getting the evo

Wait...so anonymous people who claimed to have "insider info", then back pedaled relentlessly when they realized that people caught onto them...these people didn't actually know what they were talking about? Shocking.

I was shocked now I have to see what I am going to do sign a new 2 year contract with sprint or buy this puppy and stay on T-mobile.
Tell me what you think?

I think that phone is amazing! but i really am not feeling the touchwiz and If there is no way to turn it off It's a deal breaker for me. BUT if i wasn't on sprint or the EVO didn't exist I would be all over it!!!

they did do 1 thing the Event was moved to the PAST Events list and it says "Sprint does not have any upcoming events."

I don't doubt that it take immense time and effort but jet seems like a long time to not have at least a fully functioning or close to production product.. Aside from the fact what's tops in the tech dept in 2008 is a far gone memorie at this point.. By the way are u on that industry outrigger?

As far as today's event I don't really think they're will be some big announcement or anything just maybe a ratcheting up of ads and such

Hey guys I've been on here reading everyone's comments and I can't wait for the EVO. I have no contract and I am on T-mobile and when I heard this news:

Samsung Galaxy S coming to T-Mobile?

I was shocked now I have to see what I am going to do sign a new 2 year contract with sprint or buy this puppy and stay on T-mobile.

This video was nice too:

YouTube - Samsung i9000 Galaxy S - first look at CTIA 2010!

Tell me what you think?

If I wasn't with Sprint - or if Sprint got this - I would probaly be all over it

I have, multiple times... I think it reads it based off your timezone. For you, it's a past event.. But for me (Central Standard Time), its still ongoing.

makes sense to me. maybe they are waiting for Pacific time (or Hawaiian)LOL

No, I'm not in the industry, but I do work in the finance industry where MANY SIMPLE tasks take a very long time from start to finish due to the number of people involved and inquiries to outside consultants, vendors other departments...etc. Thats not even talking about red tape. I can only assume the tech industry takes even longer. Its just that there are many people making decisions, so what happens, if some disagree? There are just too many road blocks to list, and that goes beyong the tech industry. Its just a fact of life.

And as far as the "event" today thats "supposed" to happen, I'm not disappointed because I never put too much stock into rumors. I think too many people read waaaaay too much into these things where they're just setting themselves up for major disappointments when these things don't come to fruition.

If I can count on anything, is to look into the past for future predictions. The release date and pricing for the Pre wasn't announced til just a few weeks before June 6th. Techies and forum addicts do not equal the masses, therefore the masses don't know anything until they see it on TV. I really don't expect any official announcement til sometime in mid May, it sucks but its how it is. If it happens before, than great, if not, then I'm not let down.
