Root Running Ubuntu

Astro Creep

Newbie
Hi, right now I'm backing up my apps to do a clean wipe and re-root, for I fear I may have cluttered it up while trying to get an Ubuntu image.
What I mainly wanna know is which distro and where to get it is the best one? I used Complete Linux which walked me through and gave me links to the .iso files, is this the best way to do this?

Hey be sure to post back how it works.i am sure there are several people curious of how well this works.

If you really need more memory
Its the only thing you can do
It is actually awesome
You can turn it on and off anytime
I can have 20 different tabs open in dolphin webbrowser and switch between them like nothing while converting a video to different format and downloading torrents.
Using sd card as memory is not as fast as the motions ram
But android switches whats needed from sd to ram to be efficient as possible
Yes it will degrade your sd somewhat faster , but will last quite awhile anyways.
I actually made 2 partitions for swap
One isnt being used at all
If the used partition burns out i simply switch swap to the unused partition
But that hasnt happened.still runs great.
Remember you can turn it in and off as you please.
I would imagine that to run linux you would really need this to run smoothly

How is ubuntu running now
Are you having any other issues than lag?
Tons of people run linux on androids but havent heard the full story about the motion.

I ran 'sudo apt-get install' and 'sudo apt-get update' it seems to be running fine. It's hard to control the mouse pointer and scroll, and it sucks to type in it. What should/could I do with this?

Run desktop applications like Firefox, Pidgin Instant Messenger, Transmission torrent sharing, or VLC player.

Run network applications for a small website, ftp, samba network file server, or remote automation services.

I'm sure there are a lot more ideas, but those are just off the top of my head.

I've ran this already on my phone. It works, just follow the directions from the app. That's all I had to do. I was running stock rooted.
