Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

What are you changing in the build prop and what did you change it to Stig? Mine lags horribly at times, especially when downloading updates
Mine didn't help app updates but overall speed has increased. People are saying the update to 4.2.2_r1 and any ROM that includes it reduced lag during app updates, but I haven't flashed anything like that yet.

build.prop should be:
dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=64m
dalvik.vm.heapsize=384m
(like Nexus 7)

instead of:
dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=96m
dalvik.vm.heapsize=256m

I had above 20%. After a lot of playing around I finally got it. I got to a screen I never seen before (all black screen with options in blue in the top left corner that I almost didn't see/barley see) and I picked reboot. I have yet to put recovery on here lol

I had it on a few times but then the screen would go crazy and turn off.

The easiest way to get the latest version of TWRP Recovery is to download GooManager from Play. Open it and in the setting menu (3 dots) you'll find Install OpenRecovery Script. Hit that and it'll install the latest TWRP.

I might suggest a nandroid backup and flashing JBSourcery... then look at the plethora of options available to customize your phone. Don't like it? Try AOKP like Dread suggested. They're the top 2 ROMs. Don't like it? Restore the nandroid. No love lost.

Morning all! I'm already up and on the Mass Pike - waving at my Massachusetts friends. The navigation we have says we are about 90 minutes from our destination. Then about 5 hours of set up at the convention. But it should be fairly easy.
Hope everyone is having a good morning!
What brings you up to these parts BB? :)
Has everyone see this thread on Reddit / Google code about VM Heap Size on our Galaxy Nexus devices?

Hmm, this is interesting. So it has something to do with RAM usage?

I have jbs on my phone. I was talking about my tablet.

Oh. Silly me. Okay, don't worry about it... I'm just bumping up my post count or something :p

I was about to say..... Didn't think Sourcery was developing for the N7.
Halon, there's a couple other good ROMs out there for it: Xenon, Eclipse and ParanoidAndroid are all pretty good. I still consider AOKP the most stable. Their new venture into nightlies excites me (and the ease of updating also). :)

And, Chief, that post count does need some help. :p;):D

Those are all for the N7? Any links?

Left work last night and the N7 was still acting up. I let it charge all night and it now works like nothing ever happened.

Alex Winter did an AMA on Reddit yesterday but wouldn't answer on B&T3. I do know they both want to do it and I'm pretty sure there is a finished script. He did say during an interview they wrote into the script on why Rufus isn't around, but it would be awesome if George Carlin(best comedian EVER) were still alive to be in it.

Party on, Dudes!
