And It's Final!!!

I'd like to know how and what you know about the July thing.

I've asked here before if anyone had ideas of what prospective near term changes for Metro customers might be and haven't heard anything on that.

O_o who are you and what have you done with Bruce?!

Hey Miguel, you will not need to drop, change, or mess with your, or your wife's plan. After they get the merge going and metro is officially running on t mo's gsm towers (while still operating their cdma towers) You can get a sim card from metro put it into the nexus 4 and have it run. At first it will just run on tmo's network but after they retrofit all the towers the combined company towers will put out the same thing.

I hope that was clearer.

The only foreseeable problems I can tell will be getting faster LTE here in Florida because tmo has not yet got around to rolling out lte.
However your metro account will still get/use the available metro LTE, T-mo subscribers will not get to use that metro LTE until later in the process.

Do you know if we would be able to get a sim from a t-mobile store instead?

I do not know, but I would guess No. As Far as I have read they are keeping these 2 company's separate, as far as the business and customer base goes.
that could change few years down the road when the metro cdma is converted to LTE only so later you could check with t mo.

What should I do now? I was going to retire my esteem after the 1st. The motion is being discontinued, dont want a galaxy admire. Dont want to spend alot for a temp phone. What are some ideas I might think about?

There still supporting CDMA till like 2015 so you should be fine buying any hone from metro. And the motion is still a good phone dispite it getting EOLed...

I think you guys are forgetting about good ol VoLTE seems like your all in that mindset now that all current metro phones are gonna stop workin in 2015

the only time i would suggest buying an admire 4g is if you had been given a lot of money with the rules of you had to buy one of each type of phone. otherwise get a much cheaper much better device

VoLTE will still work for several years after the 2015 cdma cutoff, but realistically how many will still be using cdma phones by then?
I read they expect over 60% of people get a new phone every year and 90% or so every 18-24 months.

The motion is in and I guess I can use the 4g hor spot for movies on the esreems big screen/hdmi. Best of both worlds. Sold

IMO I could care less about phone selections at the moment I just want T-Mobile speeds ASAP. I hate metros slow speeds. It's embarrassing..

Sorry to just pop in but I wanted to get an opinion, with the tmobile...merger....buyout...whatever imminent do you think it's still worth it for someone to start up a metro line? I'm thinking about doing just that

Better than Sprint's 3G.

i wouldnt be so confident about that, im on sprint and i get around 1.1mbps down and 700kbps up on 3g. on wimax i get around 5.5 down and 1.8 up, and sprints lte i got 25-30mbps down and 4-8mbps up.

the month i had metro on the sgs3 i got around 1-2mbps down and 900kbps up.

Depends on where you live, if t mobile is great in your area they might be the better option, Also will depend on what level of service you require. I think metro ulimited might be cheaper but unsure.

I understand that metro speeds are not the greatest out there but I'm still puzzled on the fact that based on speed test most get low numbers but yet we stream music and watch videos without issues so what is this whole speed test numbers Verizon gets 20 metro gets 5 and still gets the job done

I am convinced most of the "mine is faster" contestants are those who know they have no chance in the "mine is bigger" discussions.

for once i agree with what you say. i can't stand people who ramble on like anyone cares what they are talking about, its always speedtests and benchmarks with those people.

when in truth the real world can be completely different.

i like to have high speeds and it does excite me to have higher speeds but realistically on average i pull in about half a meg or so but i can still stream youtube and rhapsody without buffering so it really doesnt matter what your speed is if it works...

If u had 20 mb instead of bits u wouldn't be able to tell the difference unless u were downloading something while streaming Pandora or YouTube if it wasn't for the speed test 90% of u guys wouldn't even know your speeds are average or below average so like my boy mikey said if u can stream YouTube stream Pandora and download stuff onto your phone without any hiccups be grateful and quit whining about speeds. Also for ya tetherers get a real connection nuff said!

The debate wasn't about tethering it was about speed test if u do tether then good for u and if u don't good for u too my main point was not to tether and complain about speeds. Also keep in mind ur doing something your carrier don't want u to do.
