EOL/ Replacement Phone

.3 inches can't make that much of a difference can it? Also another interesting thing is the VM coverage map doesn't say I have LTE in my area but when googling Sprint LTE [city name] there is proof that people are getting LTE. Also the Victory is relatively new so maybe the Dev community will pick up? Either way it comes with Jellybean stock which isn't so bad.

And significant resolution difference as the EVO V 4G is better

I have the Victory, and honestly? Its a damn good phone. I can understand waiting for something better to come out, but when you need a phone...you get what you can.

It did take some getting used to for the screen size for me, but now that I'm adjusted, its a great phone.

Though I will say, if we get an LTEvo or something like that...I will jump to that device.

I suppose the choice is between LTE+Mediocre Phone and A good all around phone with no 4g. I think I'll wait it out. Maybe in the future the EVO V and Galaxy Victory will run out and they'll offer me a different and hopefully better LTE phone. Thanks for the help guys!

Glad I got my replacement earlier this month then. But I'm ready for something new, so I'm waiting for news of new phones for the summer. I used to end up switching between Boost and VM, because it seemed as though every other release, one carrier would get a good phone, and the other would get something average. But Boost data speeds are even worse than VM's for me, so I don't want to switch back. Would love something like a Galaxy Note or Galaxy Swhatever, but haven't found a carrier that would make sense to switch to, so far.

Depending on the next release and when Sprint LTE hits my area I might go with Getro I mean Metro PCS the next time around.

That's if Metro gets a JB phone that's not too expensive. Right now their only JB is the SGS3 for $450. The "new" LG Spirit is a nice phone with pretty good specs, but doesn't look like it will be getting JB?

For the past year or so both Boost and Virgin have been having new releases at the same time, and both getting comparable phones. Until the Evo it seemed like Virgin was the bastard step child.

Well, we'll see what the future holds. Considering the Evo V is what...a year old now and EOL? We're due for a new flagship soon. (Motorola Triumph 2 anyone?)

We'll see, but I'm honestly pleased with the victory ;)

Triumph 2? No way Jose!!!

just hang on these releases are the first sell of the next round will be the better phones. the 3rd quarter releases are coming.

They just sent me a plum Evo with Sprint markings. Not sure why as I haven't called them yet. They must be scrapping bottom of barrel for phones

VM sent me my Sprint marked Plum replacement on Friday. I think I ordered it Tuesday night. You made me a little nervous OB, but everything seems to be working. I’m rooted and running Harmonia. I love the 3D part of this phone and I’m not ready to give that up, but if I had to pick a different VM phone I would go with a S2. (My old eyes could use a bigger screen :D.)

Oh, and mine was replaced because the microphone stopped working.

I just had an order placed yesterday and was told it would be here Wednesday. I really hope it isn't plum.... I hate that color.....

As of right now, I'm waiting for a replacement, the trouble ticket that was opened still allows me the option to get the Victory. Doesn't work for me.

Any EVO V that is sent out now will no doubt be a return. I do not trust VM to properly refurbish/test returns before sending them out as replacements. Actually, I don't trust VM period. If anyone comes up with a no-contract plan close to what I have ($45 unlimited data/text/1200 minutes), I will be moving...

Home - Voyager Mobile has an unlimited everything plan for $39, bring your own phone program and they use the Sprint network. The biggest downside I see, is that they are a brand new untested company.

Every company sends returned phones as replacments, except for the first 30 days you're entitled to a new one. What don't you trust? As I've posted previously, Virgin is the only carrier that allows unlimited number of returns within your warranty period, all without receiving the defective device first and also not placing a hold on your card before cross shipping. All this plus 4G network dirt cheap. Good luck finding better.

My evo v replacement was also defective. So they sent me a new one Thursday(24th) and it still hasn't come. So I just called and after going through two people not being able to find my order, a girl said FedEx has my shipment backordered?? What does that mean?

It means nothing, either FedEx has it or they don't. FedEx doesn't have anything to do with whether an item is back ordered or not. They don't keep items warehoused, they are just the company hired to deliver it.

She is just trying to move blame off VM.

(Edit) Also, if it has been given to shipper then they should have given you a tracking number so you can follow where it is at a given moment.

She said they sent the phone, but FedEx has it backordered, and I should call them and ask what is wrong.. All she gave me is a phone number, but I don't think they will be able to use my vm order number to track the package. I'm gonna call back and talk to another person and see what they have to say
