EOL/ Replacement Phone

Log into your account and see what it says about pending orders, if Virgin has actually shipped it they should be able to give you a tracking besides the VMU order number.

Home - Voyager Mobile has an unlimited everything plan for $39, bring your own phone program and they use the Sprint network. The biggest downside I see, is that they are a brand new untested company.
I wonder what their throttle limit is. I only looked at their website for a minute but didn't find anything.

As I've posted previously, Virgin is the only carrier that allows unlimited number of returns within your warranty period, all without receiving the defective device first and also not placing a hold on your card before cross shipping.
After warranty too, in my experience.

I've clicked on the view order history tab on my account and it just stays white like its trying to load something bit it never does. Also, did the person who placed your order give you the order number over the phone? The only number the person I was talking to gave me was the one to put on the envelope for the defective device I have now....

Yeah all she gave me was the return #, so there is no way to track because the order history is empty

If anyone comes up with a no-contract plan close to what I have ($45 unlimited data/text/1200 minutes), I will be moving...

I agree. I'd move too if there was a better deal in town, but there isn't.
In fact, I buy my top ups on eBay and I've been able to get my monthly bill below $30 doing it this way. This makes it even harder to beat.

My only gripe is that we can't roam with VM. TMobile allows full network access to their no-contract prepay users...but a comperable plan is more expensive than VM's plan...and I haven't yet crunched the numbers to see if I can get my bill as low buying top ups on eBay with TMobile yet. I'm sure there are savings to be had...just not sure how low one can get.

I'll visit this someday closer to the end of the year when I'll be thinking about a new phone. I don't need the roaming...at least...not more than 1 week per year. I don't travel much at all...so I can't say that I'd even need the roaming...as I have yet to travel anywhere with my new VM phone. This summer, I'll be going to the beach...and we'll see if my phone works there. It should work fine once there (coverage map shows strong voice), but on the way, I'm sure there will be some dead spots.

I wouldn't switch networks for my once a year trip however...unless the price was the same or less, and the phone options weren't too much.

Virgin sent me a replacement yesterday that was defective, Called for a new replacement and they are completely out of stock, gave me the unprecedented choice of being on a waiting list or swapping to a Samsung Victory LTE. I chose to wait, but after 6 replacement Triumph's, Virgin never offered to swap for a different phone so this really does look like the end for our beloved little Evo.:(

Who did you talk to about getting the Victory LTE? My 3VO V has been randomly shutting down and powering itself back up, I called VM customer service they said they had black ones so they over nighted me a phone that turned out to be plum colored...I called back spoke again with another CSR for about an hour and he assured me that they would send a black one this time its scheduled for delivery today (Monday 29th of April)...the last agent I spoke to I got his employee ID number and name as he assured and guaranteed me it will be black. If its not black I want the option of getting the Victory LTE, at this point in time I'll take the Victory, I run my own business (Lawn Care / Landscaping) and can't have a phone thats unreliable while out as I get many calls during the day.

As I previously posted, I don't usually take no for an answer, after the 3 hours ordeal of activating the replacement because it was still attached to another account I found out that the port would only recognize being charged, no computer connectivity, I immediately asked for another replacement, when none was available I made them escalate it and open a trouble ticket. After being told on Friday that they are still trying to get my replacement I was again offered the Victory. Doesn't matter who I speak to, the ticket is documented in my account. I've actually asked for a plum model, it's much more subdued than I thought it would be and pretty much guarantees a Sprint branded phone because I don't think that they were ever made directly for Virgin.

Don't you just love VM's Customer Service???

Oh 3 months ago they sent me one of those cheap little Kyocera goverenment phones instead of a evo v replacement. The assurance wireless one.. Lol

Tell the rep that the mistake has been a burden and they will add 10$ to your account!

My replacement came a day early. It's plum. Thought id hate the color but I think its pretty cool. No 3g issues with this one :).

Called for a replacement last night and got backordered. Was given a $10 credit (that makes 55 bucks I've gotten by complaining in the last two months). I can't decide if I want the Victory if offered, though...

I can't tell from the images, but are the buttons along the bottom raised? They look raised. I guess I could ask Prinny as he has one.

Also, it comes with Jellybean, so any development community that does form will have little trouble making ALL the features work with JB ROMs.

One week with my victory.. So far, great! Stock Jellybean is sweet. Smaller screen doesn't bother me. My 3g is very fast *no lte til it comes to Orlando fl.. As a free replacement, it's well worth switching.

Can I see a picture of the plum htc evo v 4g?

Thanks,
Eric

Saw a display model at Target the other day - the buttons are raised. It's not a bad-looking phone, overall.

Now I'm in the same spot as some others in this thread - waiting on a replacement phone and being told there are no Evos available. Trying to decide if I should wait, or call and push for the Victory option. Did everyone's Evo die at once, for them to run out of refurbs???

That's the same thing with me they talking about opening up a case but they say they have no more
