Why is it that this runs my battery down so much? Can you guys tell by the pic why its running so much data?z

This is how it looks from Battery usage App

The real problem would've been if windows system was running 92% of your battery :D.
Bad joke I know.

On a more serious note:

Are there any apps on your phone that support ads?

How many widgets on your main screen?

How is your reception the majority of the time?

How is your brightness set up? Screen timeout?

Any apps that require to be running all the time? Like your app guard?

Is your auto sync on or off?

A few of them.

How many widgets on your main screen?
10

How is your reception the majority of the time?
Signal is good depending on where I am <---- MetroPCS

How is your brightness set up? Screen timeout?
All the way down, screen timeout is about 1min

Any apps that require to be running all the time? Like your app guard?
I have JuiceDefender and Deep Sleep Battery Saver on 2gether lol

Is your auto sync on or off?
Off

-If these apps are running they will pull data which drains your battery.

10

-This is bad. Shortcuts are good, widgets are bad with battery.

How is your reception the majority of the time?
Signal is good depending on where I am <---- MetroPCS

-The lower the signal the harder the phone works to find the signal, the faster it drains

How is your brightness set up? Screen timeout?
All the way down, screen timeout is about 1min

-Screen timeout must be set way lower, say you get a notification, the screen turns on and stays on for 1 min and you didn't even realized

-Get rid of deep sleep battery

Is your auto sync on or off?
Off

-Ok that's good

-Also if you're overclocked your battery will drain

Look at my received data for the day, and look at yours, there is something really using your 4g

I use advanced settings. It's all about trial and error. Too many settings to list, but start by only allowing jd to auto turn data on when screen is on and off when off. And go from there

I'd also suggest Screebl (sp) is correct.
They have a beta version to use while they're trying to put together their latest version.
This app will turn your screen off within seconds of you laying it down flat or standing straight up but, while it's in your hand and or moving about, the screen will stay on.
You'll have to learn to sleep your phone by pressing the power button cause, if you put it in your pocket, Screebl will keep the screen on and your battery will go bye bye.
So, once you install it, go into Screebl settings and choose Minimal for the Screen Time Out. Also make sure Enable at Power On is checked too.
Leave everything else alone until you become familiar with it.
Back out of the app, lay your phone down and watch the battery saving begin.

Hmmm... I was at 89% when I deleted deep sleep and now I've lost 9% with barely using my phone, this is ridiculous -__- and I've clocked my phone pretty low like Max1024 min 120.

use no frills CPU for clocking. it's a good one. I set my cpu around 600max and use ondemand or powersave if I'm on the go. If i'm near power, at home ect. I'll turn it up to 1.7GHz and use performance. This CPU is snappy at 1.7 found that it doesn't run as well at 1.9 or 2.1.

Also "data on/off" is a great app. It and rhapsody are the only wigits I use.
Its a 1x1 wigit button to turn the data on or off. If I'm at work I don't need data. only calls and texts. so I turn the 4G/3G/1x ect.. off with one button.
I have my RAM usage down to 87MB by not running apps. the app "Autostarts" is a great app, it disables whatever autostart permission apps have.
Like google maps and facebook autostart when you plug in USB.
I disable any apps from starting that are not critical. like gmail. playstore, those apps suck up power when running.
"Autostarts" cost $1 but for free you can scan your apps with it and see what apps autostart with what triggers.

"cachemate" is a great app to clear caches fast. just go to the settings to setup what caches are cleared.

also I don't know what your background is, but the more colors the display has to show the faster the screen will drain battery. if you can get most of your display boxs, backgrounds, icons, ect.. with that blue/black tone... it will save power.

when I had the samsung admire I used "chainfire3D" video drivers. to reduce the FX to 16bit so my phone could emulate n64 without lag.
that app had a cool feature. "night mode" it would switch to a monotone color of your choice, and only use 1/3 of the screen power. I used red tone. it has a good contrast.
Also it was great at night when you look at the phone, to text or see the clock. to not be blinded by the screen. (even all the way dim is bright at dead of night)
I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT CHAINFIRE3D ON THE ESTEEM.... didn't need to reduce the FX on this phone.

Try flashing the stock kernel, it worked wonders on my phone. It only drops 10% in 5hrs on standby, this is with all radios off(4G, wifi, bluetooth, gps) also used rom toolbox to disable anything that auto starts.
The only one I had issues with was YouTube, don't disable any receivers or it FC's or some errors, I forgot which.

Just try the stock kernel first and let it sit for an hour or two to see if it goes to deep sleep, I noticed this kernel has longer periods of sleep that other and I think that's what's making the difference, just a theory but all I know it works with my phone. I get an easy 12-16hrs on stock battery now and its old, the original that came with it when this phone just came out. Hope it helps you as it did for me.

After some reconfiguring I downloaded BBS and CPU spy... and it gave me a better idea of what was going on with my battery. Apparently I HAD overclocked it tooo high for my phone to handle. So I underclocked it around 700 or so with a low of 122... and my first charged had my battery last for a day and 7 hrs.
