Root [DEV] WIP CM9 (Camera) [updated 2/23/2013]

Its a kernel tester for gamers. It basically fixed it where any game will run. I recommend flashing it. It also helps with the graphics a tad bit.

Huh, definitely sounds worth it :D Why isn't it included in the full ROM if it's such a big fix (Or at least IMO it is)?

Its because MTDEV and others have been working really hard these past couple months. First they got back camera working, now theyre trying to get other things working too. The kernel was just posted by BSydz for people to test and it works very well.

Like he said, sort of. BSydz and adamto have done the real heavy lifting.

In the last couple of weeks I have been converting the ROM over to ics-release. There a ton of individual projects that need to moved over and I did it in a big group and it killed the build. Right now I'm slowing down the process and will try to incorporate BSydz's work.

I just installed this combo the other day... works great!<br />

Thanks so much to everyone involved with getting the Camera working for pics... that was the one thing keeping me from CM9!<br />

Anyone worried about battery life... I got 48 hrs from a full charge (well, down to 50% after 24 hrs)... so it's great!
I installed this combo and my triumph DID NOT like it! batterylife not good and stayed hot. 3-20 CM9 fine by itself- no test kernel

is everything working good on this?im running cm7 but I want the cm9. wats a good theme for cm7 and cm9?

Mostly everything is working. The camera is still fidgety though, only the back camera works, and only for pictures. No videos or front-pictures.

as for themes, It depends on your style. If you like the cyan-ish theme that comes with stock cm9, I would recommend cobalt. If you like a different color, i would still reccommend cobalt, as they have many different colors, and the theme itself is very nice.

Completely irrelevant, but how did you get the centered clock...I've been looking into doing that for a while.

EDIT: Nevermind, just realized that was a screenshot from the play store. :stupido2:

Alright, I know this is NOT the place for this, and I apologize if I offend anyone, but what's going on with MIUI V4? I Installed it a few days ago, and its pretty decent, but needs to be updated. I kinda missed MIUI and I STILL cannot get any version of linux other than Linux Mint 32 bit to even boot on my computer. I would love to help, and MIUI is such a beautiful ROM. Any insight? Thanks guys!

Theres always the 2.3 MIUI until the v4 gets updated. It has the same build status as cm7.

After installing the new kernel Bloons TD 5 now works which before would just crash the whole phone. I haven't been able to test battery life yet but I'll updated my post when I do.

Guys, I don't know if you can help us poor Elite users.. It looks like the devs just got CM9 working on the LG Optimus Elite, but alas no Camera. The original stock rom was Gingerbread. How transferrable is what we learnt for the Triumph and CM9/Camera to other phones? Is there a walk through that someone can help us with?

Well these are two, almost, completely different phones. Your best bet would be to find the phone that is pretty much exact to yours, such as we have the huawai x6. If it has cm9 working, Try to find it and get the code for it.

I thought that originally, but now am not so sure. The actual hardware is normally addressed at the kernel level. A lot of work went on in camerahal which is slightly different. The mt uses basically an older kernel in cm9,

I wonder if the same things we did with the mt are applicable in a general way to other devices.

Basically, the fixes would work, but you would have to make them geared towards the phone youre working with. Cant exactly just take code from one device and it will automatically work on another.

There is some general information that I put in a README file in camerahal, some of that, especially the parameters, is going to be applicable to any phone. If it's not a Qualcomm MSM7x30, though, the kernel and libcamera.so are going to be a lot different. If your libcamera.so looks anything like ours, there is a good chance you can use camerahal as well.

Is there any reason 3G won't work with this rom? Wifi and phone calls work, but I have no 3G data access. Any ideas? It worked fine with the Sharp rom.

Edit: I fixed it. I didn't have mobile data in. It's in Settings/more/mobile networks/ check data enabled.

Oh, yay for front facing camera!

Mobile data has turned itself off on me several times with CM9. I haven't seen it happen yet in PA...

Does anyone have any idea why Vonage Mobile won't make calls on this rom? It will register the phone number, but says there's no internet when I try to place a call. Weird
