I am not seeing pre-orders starting on the 18th anywhere. I called VZW and they told me the 19th.

For those who can only pre-order on the 19th rather than the 18th, I've found some GOOD NEWS: I did the math, and since both groups will still have to wait until the 29th to receive their phones, those who order on the 19th will actually have a shorter wait from the time they order until the time they actually receive their phones! Wow, who'd have thunk it!

:D

I don't understand the disappointment over not having wirelessN.

802.11g supports bandwidth up to 54 Mbps - unless you have an internet connection with download speeds greater than 54 Mbps N has no real world significant advantage. And even if your connection is faster than 54 Mbps the phones speed would be restricted by the 1ghz processor.

Well, for me I prefer N for one big reason (which does require root access - which will happen at one point) Transferring files from the computer to the Incredible WIRELESSLY.

For me its not about surfing (even at my home where I have FIOS, my download is 30...with the wireless being G at 54 the G is still faster)......

Its about the networking within the house. It would be sweet to be able to transfer files at 250mb/s compared to using USB, or having to take the microusb card out and using the memory card slot.

Or be like me and not pre-order... I plan on driving around like a nut at 9am :P

I don't have anything bad to say about the Zagg screen protector as long as you know how they feel on the device. Kind of a sticky feel at first and then it slowly smooths out.

I'll stick with a harder screen protector, But Zagg makes a great product. I've used them in the past a few times.

I've tried 5 different screen protectors from major manufactures of the stuff, and will stick with Zagg's InvisibleSHIELD. The surface is not 'sticky' ... it just 'lightly grabs' your finger and helps it to stay on the screen.

Can existing customer, due for an annual upgrade on their 2 year contract, pre order (BB or VZ) I think I read that you can't.

Sorry, I tried looking at most of the previous 39K + posts, but couldn't find the post

but does the zagg do a good job of anti-glare? that's my biggest thing since everyone is saying it will be hard to see in daylight.

i have an LG Dare, and for anyone else who has one too, you know it'd be easier to kidnap Obama than see your screen outside on a sunny day, i want those days to be over.

Here's one at Frys for $39...is this what I'm looking for? Does the brand matter? Is this a good price?
FRYS.com*|*KINGSTON

The only thing with that one...while going through the specs..... Is the class. Class 2.

Techinically it really only matter most while saving data to the card, so if you don't mind slower write speeds it should be fine. That would include saving data from the computer to the card as well as snapping photos and video on the phone itself.

edit: saw you updated your post as I typed this

Just an FYI, you can get the Verizon Insurance at Best Buy when you purchase the phone. This is what sold it for me. Plus, your BB might be doing pre orders already, mine was. :)
when i went to preorder today at best buy, they said that i would only get $50 for my ne2. when i left i called vzw and they said i should get $100 for ne2! whats going on? do i have to get bb to call vzw to get my full discount?

I know this is probably not the right thread for this, but with all the talk about insurance on lost phones I thought this would be an important piece to add...so please dont' flame....

There is an app called Mobile Defense: https://www.mobiledefense.com/

It runs in the background and you don't even know that it exists by going through the phone after you install it.

If you lose your phone you can remotely lock, backup, and wipe your phone from their website.

From the times I have accidentally left my phone in a cab in NYC (thankfully my razr is not the newest thing on the block and I have always gotten it back)..... I am fairly certain I'm definitely installing it.

What does it matter if you can pre order on the 18th or the 19th it doesnt, you can pre order on the 27th, and still get the phone at the same time as everyone else on April 29th!! so can we please drop the talk about the pre order date, and also the 8gb thing its in the phone so quit talking about it please!

Do you have any clue how the contrast will look on the Incredible. I'm getting it either way but I currently have an Omnia too and I loathe it and WM and trying to use it in the sun is nearly impossible. Just wondering if I'll have the same problem.

I honestly don't think the Incredible will be any better than the Omnia in the sunlight ... In fact there's a good chance it'll be worse. The AMOLED screens are beautiful indoors but suffer in the sunlight. I don't know if any protector will help you but maybe check the Nexus 1 Forum for suggestions cause it also uses AMOLED.

Since INCREDIBLE's and NEXUS ONE's screens are the same here's NEXUS ONE InvisibleSHIELD page. Hopefully it'll answer your question.

Have you thought about a paint pen? It works like a marker but is actually spreading paint on what you need. You can find them at almost any art supply store.

A quick search on Amazon and I found these which are made by Volvo for touching up their cars (which are pricier because they are coming in a pack of multi colors). Amazon.com: Volvo Touch-up Pen Paint, Black Currant Pearl - 463: Automotive

They are usually on a couple of bucks each.

Perfect! That's what we should use. Great find and great idea!
