Not around here (Oklahoma City area). I called 3 Best Buy stores. They are aware of the DI and the April 29 release date, but they are not aware of a pre-sale or pre-order starting tomorrow.
I was hoping for an eager salesperson to invite me in to preorder tomorrow and hint about being able to pick the phone up early, but alas, no.
I wonder if some of the BB store managers are just taking it upon themselves to sell a $50 gift card and put people on a waiting list since they're getting calls for it from all the Best Buy Mobile buzz (and obvious confusion). I didn't even know there were stand-alone BBM stores 'till yesterday. They seem to be only in a handful of states.
Yeah it sounds like your in trouble
I'm nervous myself because I have a $10 bolt-on 500 txt package. I'm "hoping" they let me keep it. I really don't want to pay a extra $20 for unlimited txtx's I'll never useand I use enough that it would get expensive per txt :/
Hey guys I'm not only a new user, but a person who's just become interested in tech, and a person who's going to the incredible from his first phone: the voyager. So these questions will probably sound stupid to you all.
Do screen protectors diminish a touch screens responsiveness?
Do they make the screen less bright or tint it in ay way?
Do they have any bad effects?
Sorry but I don't want to ruin the touchscreen so thinking of screen protector![]()
The screen protector should not diminish the responsiveness at all. I have one on my iPod Touch and works like a charm.
It most definitely will not make the screen less bright or add a tint.
They do not have any bad effects. Only thing some people notice is a slight orange peel effect but that is only at certain angles.
Hope that helps.
It has to be a besty buy mobile and there are only like 20 in the country
Saw that over on FoH yesterday. Would be funny if it wasn't true.
I have an old grandfathered $5 unlimited in txt plan with 50 msgs to other carriers. I have spoken to several reps on the phone and I have been told each time that I will not be able to carry that plan over to the Nationwide Plan (I currently have AC II).

FWIW I stopped by a FULL Best Buy today in Antioch, TN (Nashville, hickory hollow area) to ask the pre-order question. The two guys in the mobile phone section both said that they are offering the pre-order for the phone on the 19th.. They said I could pick it up on the 29th. They said that they hadn't heard anything about picking it up early, but they said they sometimes let silver rewards members pick up new phones early.. They said they would also grant my vzw ne2 status.. and they said the 50 bb deposit gift card thing was the only thing you had to put down.. I am a current vzw customer
so I don't think it's a best buy mobile only store where you can pre-order.... the section in the middle of this one was labeled a best buy mobility store though..
peace

Did you actually try to select any of the phones and go through the upgrade process? I didn't have to go through the whole thing. After the first step, the website told me that I had to change to one of their Nationwide plans. That's the only choice I had.
Just got back from visiting my local BB. It's not listed on the BBM web site but there was a big sign inside saying "Best Buy Mobile". The sales reps I spoke to confirmed pre-orders for the DI beginning tomorrow. I didn't ask about NE2 since I'm on a family plan and not the primary line. At first I was told that the pre-ordered phones would be given out first come first served but was then told that they would definitely have enough for all the pre-orders. Seemed a bit contradictory but since I plan on being there bright and early tomorrow morning I didn't press it. The part I found encouraging was when I asked when the phones could be picked up they said the 28th!
I know it's only one day but after waiting this long I'll take any little improvement I can get.
Well, it's a good thing that all the BB's with a dedicated mobile department inside will be doing the pre-sale. Especially for all those people that live hundreds of miles away from a stand-alone BBM store.FWIW I stopped by a FULL Best Buy today in Antioch, TN (Nashville, hickory hollow area) to ask the pre-order question. He probably ment to say the 29th.
We're going to need pics of that, or it didn't happen![]()
I sure as hell ain't going to sit around all day reading this forum about how awesome it is while I'm waiting till 4pm for FedEx to show up.
how are you supposed to know which fedex to call? You could do what I'm doing and call FedEx on the 28th and have them hold it for you rather than deliver, then go pick it up in the morning.
