Not around here (Oklahoma City area). I called 3 Best Buy stores. They are aware of the DI and the April 29 release date, but they are not aware of a pre-sale or pre-order starting tomorrow.

I was hoping for an eager salesperson to invite me in to preorder tomorrow and hint about being able to pick the phone up early, but alas, no.

I wonder if some of the BB store managers are just taking it upon themselves to sell a $50 gift card and put people on a waiting list since they're getting calls for it from all the Best Buy Mobile buzz (and obvious confusion). I didn't even know there were stand-alone BBM stores 'till yesterday. They seem to be only in a handful of states.

weird, the one i called in TN said that they would be taking the pre-orders on sunday. the way he explained it was that BB's have a BB mobile inside them.

Hey guys I'm not only a new user, but a person who's just become interested in tech, and a person who's going to the incredible from his first phone: the voyager. So these questions will probably sound stupid to you all.

Do screen protectors diminish a touch screens responsiveness?
Do they make the screen less bright or tint it in ay way?
Do they have any bad effects?

Sorry but I don't want to ruin the touchscreen so thinking of screen protector:confused::rolleyes:

Yeah it sounds like your in trouble :(

I'm nervous myself because I have a $10 bolt-on 500 txt package. I'm "hoping" they let me keep it. I really don't want to pay a extra $20 for unlimited txtx's I'll never use :( and I use enough that it would get expensive per txt :/

I have an old grandfathered $5 unlimited in txt plan with 50 msgs to other carriers. I have spoken to several reps on the phone and I have been told each time that I will not be able to carry that plan over to the Nationwide Plan (I currently have AC II).

Here's a few pictures of my old HTC Touch with the BoxWave crystal screen protector on it.

The screen protector should not diminish the responsiveness at all. I have one on my iPod Touch and works like a charm.

It most definitely will not make the screen less bright or add a tint.

They do not have any bad effects. Only thing some people notice is a slight orange peel effect but that is only at certain angles.

Hope that helps.

It helps ALOT so thank you very much :D

It has to be a besty buy mobile and there are only like 20 in the country

FWIW I stopped by a FULL Best Buy today in Antioch, TN (Nashville, hickory hollow area) to ask the pre-order question. The two guys in the mobile phone section both said that they are offering the pre-order for the phone on the 19th.. They said I could pick it up on the 29th. They said that they hadn't heard anything about picking it up early, but they said they sometimes let silver rewards members pick up new phones early.. They said they would also grant my vzw ne2 status.. and they said the 50 bb deposit gift card thing was the only thing you had to put down.. I am a current vzw customer

so I don't think it's a best buy mobile only store where you can pre-order.... the section in the middle of this one was labeled a best buy mobility store though..

peace

I'm already on a Nationwide plan and already have a unlimited data plan. All I need is a phone switch...

I think I'll be ok, Because I just added the data package in Feb. and they didn't say anything.

yea you can go to regular best buys too. also i lived in antioch for 3 years :)

Just got back from visiting my local BB. It's not listed on the BBM web site but there was a big sign inside saying "Best Buy Mobile". The sales reps I spoke to confirmed pre-orders for the DI beginning tomorrow. I didn't ask about NE2 since I'm on a family plan and not the primary line. At first I was told that the pre-ordered phones would be given out first come first served but was then told that they would definitely have enough for all the pre-orders. Seemed a bit contradictory but since I plan on being there bright and early tomorrow morning I didn't press it. The part I found encouraging was when I asked when the phones could be picked up they said the 28th!

I know it's only one day but after waiting this long I'll take any little improvement I can get.

whats this about a deposit?

Did you actually try to select any of the phones and go through the upgrade process? I didn't have to go through the whole thing. After the first step, the website told me that I had to change to one of their Nationwide plans. That's the only choice I had.

They told me I didn't have to worry about my plan until I activated the phone.

As long as your local Best Buy has a "Best Buy Mobile Store" then you will be able to pre-order tomorrow. They just might now know yet due to poor management or lack of communication.

He probably ment to say the 29th. Maybe Best Buy will allow Silver RewardZone members to get it a couple of days early, but I'm betting VZW has to sign off on that.

Well, it's a good thing that all the BB's with a dedicated mobile department inside will be doing the pre-sale. Especially for all those people that live hundreds of miles away from a stand-alone BBM store.

It's a shame though, that just a day before a big promo starts, that they aren't able to get proper information out to all their people in the stores.

Do companies like this NOT have employee meetings, or bulletin boards, or any kind of organized internal communication anymore??? :(

So what is the reason for pre-ordering? Do you guys really think the phone will sell out? I don't think there are many people as into this phone other than us.

P.S. My Storm basically said "FU" to me today by crashing and making me lose all my contacts...so ready to get this phone!
