Droid or Incredible?

So today I made the awesome move of dropping my phone in the parking lot, shattering the screen and destroying the LCD display (it's not just cracked, the screen does not turn on).

No, I do not have insurance.

So do I drop the 550 on a new Droid, 280 (is what I've been told) on the Refurbished Droid, or do I wait 12 days and drop the money (I'm guessing 600 off contract) on the Incredible?

I'm leaning towards the Incredible.

Incredible for sure. The only thing Droid does better is physical keyboad, and that's a matter of personal choice. Incredible one ups all the competition to date.

well, you're asking in the Incredible forum, so everyone here obviously is a fan of the Incredible. We're all a bit biased :)

Your answer is: get the Droid (that way, there will be one less person on drop day looking for one so I'm sure to get one!)

I keep doing research on the Incredible, seeing a few posts with it showing with 1gb for ram... if that's true, I'm easily switching to the incredible.

12 days w/o a phone will be tough.

The CPO Droid is 289.99 (last time I checked), comes with a 1 year warranty and no contract. The CPO program is specifically for people in your situation.

Yes, to the unspoken question, CPOs are refurbished devices, but they go through an additional 100 point inspection to guarantee good working order, which is why they come with a 1 year warranty. It's very similar to and inspired by the Certified Pre Owned cars at your local dealership.

Incredible, but don't ever spam two of the same topics in two different threads. Thanks.

I absolutely love my Droid, and w/ it rooted and OCed to 1.2GHz, there's no better phone for me available on the market. W/ that said, I'll be getting an Incredible for the woman on Day 1. She's getting very excited, and I'm very excited for her. This is going to be a great phone and I believe this phone on Verizon will really start to snowball Android's success.

Don't you have a old flip phone or something? You can dial *228 or go online and activate it easily....

as for moto droid vs inc droid, Personally, I HATE the physical keyboard on the Moto, it's the main reason I started looking around for new phones coming out and bumped into the Inc.

also I will take the insurance too. It will cost you $6o a year but I think it's worthy.
Big +1 on insurance unless you have a bunch of accounts with upgrades staggered through out the year.
I can get any phone I want Right now, Im waiting for Incred and looking forward to the day I rip the Heart/Battery out of my Eris.:p
