Personally, I didn't think the back was as bad as everyone else did. I actually liked the little android robot (you can't see him in the picture above, due to glare [which I know is one reason people didn't like the thing in the first place]) and the look of the HTC INCREDIBLE up the side of it. Oh, and it always looked more like a burnt sienna than a red to me. Oh well. In any case (lol, no pun intended - Ok, maybe a little), I am super excited about the look of the final product. I honestly think that in terms of design, this phone can sit right next to the Desire and easily hold its own.
 
testman now has the droid incredible as one of the showcase tabs :)

My bet is that this time tomorrow night the VZW pre-order will be open
 
The DI will be in the BB add that comes out NEXT Sunday the 25th. Just like new DVDs that do not go on sale until Tuesday the phone will be in the store prior to the 29th. Will they sell it on the 25th? Worth the $50 pre-order as you get a $50 BB gift card that you can use immediatly or return and it does not keep you from getting the phone in another way.


Any video of the DI web surfing sites with flash embedded yet?

Does this forum, of sound body and mind (maybe neither) rule that we shall hence forth refer to the DROID Incredible as the "DI"?

There's not video of web browsing action as far as I've seen. No doubt there will be a frenzy on Monday of media (i'm thinkin).

p.s. I can't access "my verizon/account" services as of right now. I wonder how long it takes for that to become available because that'll probably be how long it takes tomorrow night to get to the order page.

is this true? i was thinking of preordering from bb, but then i'm worried that when the phone launches, they won't honor (or match) my ne2, then i'll be stuck with a $50 card (i know i can use it for something else), but i can return it?

I think that any current Verizon customer should definitely check the above link to save time and avoid frustration before heading over to a Best Buy (or any other 3rd party outlet for that matter, because similar rules apply). I know there has been a lot of back and forth of where to get the device, but depending on your situation, Verizon in-store or Verizon On-line may not just be the best option...it may be the only option.

The reason I say that is because unless you're 11 months into a 12 month contract or 22 months into a 24 month contract, you may not qualify for discount pricing for the device - or you may not even be able to upgrade through Best Buy at all. For me, I am 20 months into a 24 month contract, entered my cell and zip, and found out I cannot get my Incredible via Best Buy. If you've already hit your NE2 or currently are not under a contract, you should be good to go.

With the recent addition of the Droid Incredible, there has been a significant up-tick in web traffic there, so the upgrade checker may falter at times. But keep trying. It may save you some time in the long-run.

I am also only 20 months into my 2 year and the BB status checker says that I am eligible for an upgrade. I wonder why it's giving different answers for the same situation? I'm still going with VZW pre-ordrer, so they can deliver it to my work and I can watch it charge all day!

After being denied via *611 yesterday I emailed them last night. Today I got both a call and follow up email from a Rachael at Verizon. Another "NOPE" response:

Honestly, this kind of nonsensical and preferential treatment is yet another good reason I'm interested in taking Sprint and the EVO for a test drive this summer.

I'm not sure what your account history is, but it seems like that (been a VZW customer since 1997 & always pay ontime), and the fact that I've had so many problems with my Storm had a lot to do with it. Feel free to PM me if you want more info.

Returning it should not be an issue.

Really!? That would be awesome. I would love for this to stay because I think people have gotten to know each other and stuff and its nice, kind of homey. you know?

Plus I would love to see how those people react after getting the phone and hear raves and complaints about the phone.

yes you can return it. i talked to bb today about that
