Root [Virgin Mobile] [VMOBI][BACKUP] 100% Stock Virgin Mobile Victory [07.04.2013]

05.13.2013
Created backup of the stock ROM which can be restored through TWRP.

All this has changed from a flashable zip to a backup that needs to be restored using TWRP. It works perfectly and is 100% stock with no info on the ROM. I listed a Q/A in the OP. Just got tired of fighting the flashable zip, it would load but the radio would not work. My time will be better used on CyanogenMod anyways, I just wanted to have a 100% stock something for everyone to roll back on if need be.

As always enjoy :D

When I get some time I'll make it into a Stock Rom for you ;)

Edit: if its a backup before activation I don't see why it wouldn't work

I got the zip to work through the kitchen just fine. The problem is each time I flashed it the radio would not work for whatever reason. My guess is it's a problem with permissions that need to be added into the updater-script. Since I didn't want to spend anymore time editing a 500+ MB zip file. It takes like 4-5 minutes to copy each time. I felt that TWRP and Clockworkmod is the better way to go. May not be as easy as a zip but it serves the purpose :D

I'll state this now saying I was in over my head but, I can't seem to figure out how to get this OS back up and running. Can someone provide a little further insight. I am stuck in TWRP. I have extra SD cards, I'm just not entirely sure of what I should be putting on them to get them to show up in Recovery... if that's even the case. Thanks in advance for the help.

Download the TWRP.zip file from the OP, then extract the zip. Take the folder it creates and put it on your SD Card. Boot into TWRP and then got to restore and choose External_SD and restore. 187 seconds later you should have a booting device :D

I've done this but when I get into the recovery screen I have no packages to restore...

What you could do is go through the System on your phone with the working radio and find out what the files permissions are Stock the appliy those in the updater-script. It will take time though

Yeah what I'm hoping is too fix cm10 looks to also be a permission problem with the radios. If I can solve that I'm sure I can go back and fix the stock ROM to be flashable.

I had the same problem when I screwed mine up... Seems I was the only one with the problem at the time...

What ya do, go into twrp, make a backup... When it's done, delete the files from the back up in the last folder of the string (should be numbered, like a date) keep all the folders, just delete the files that the backup put in there... Then put the files that you downloaded, unzip them into that dated folder on the sd card...

I have, but I still can't turn on WiFi or Bluetooth. I tried to flash the stock Sprint image a while ago.

I believe there are a few issues experiencing these issues as a result of putting the Sprint modem on their phone. I could be wrong, but some of the Odin packages for the Sprint stock rom also puts the Sprint modem onto the device thus requiring a Virgin Mobile modem to get their radios working again.

Again, I could be wrong but it looks to me like some users are stuck with the modem for the Sprint Galaxy Victory?

I am working on an Odin recovery of Virgin Mobile ROM. Waiting to hear back from the admin at a site to walk me through it. I will post it as soon as I can :)

All I released the CWM recovery stock, this new version should be working perfect and works with the my new version of CWM I released.

Thank you, sir! :)

You bet, I tried to create some odin backups but nothing is working, I worked with (2) gents from the forums and after about 10 installs nothing worked. Sadly there is no real good documentation on creating them. The stuff I have found doesn't really get into the whole "modem" partition. I have used all the commands listed in creating these odin backups from the dd= to taring up the files, and creating an md5.

However nothing flashes. My guess is it's either an issue with the version of odin we are using, or something else. My hopes is the CWM, and TWRP restores are enough. If it's not, sadly a call to Virgin Mobile will be in your future . Right now my focus is on CyanogenMod so this will be my last stock ROM release for now.

Hello,
I installed the sprint rom as a few others had. I am trying to install the stock rom because the radios didn't work. I have tried both the CWM and the TWRP restores given here. Both install fine from their respective recoveries. But when I reboot after a successful restore the phone blinks samsung and shows the virgin mobile logo (both expected) and then the samsung logo with a pulsing blue glow appears and it doesn't go anywhere from there. It just keeps pulsing :( I was wondering if anyone had an idea as to what the problem might be.
