The max is $50? How come yours shows $100? How is it calculated?
As you may have read in my post, "For those who are newer to VZW, I think the max discount is $50, but it will show whatever you're eligible for."

VZW changed the max amount for NE2 about 14-18 months ago, somewhere in there.

I've been with VZW for 8 years now. With the plan I have, it qualifies me for the max discount, which, when I signed up for NE2, was $100. As long as I keep going on NE2, my discount will always be $100. :)

I know me too! In 4th grade my project was all about the planet pluto. Now I realize that I was all wrong. :(

Now they're gonna go back and retroactively fail you for 4th grade. You'll have to take it over again just like in Billy Madison. :p

I don't get it. Whats the point of the pre-order?

Order it online the day before or go to our local bb store and pick it up. You are just locking yourself into a purchase before you have to for nothing.

Ummmmm maybe we all don't live next to a Verizon store, or we have jobs we have to be at. I don't know why so many people are putting down pre-orders. It's just another option people have to purchase the phone. I live 2 hours from the closest VZW store. I really don't want to take off work to dive 2 hours to get a phone and then drive 2 hours back home. Plus I like the fact that there's an INSTANT rebate and I don't have to worry about how I am going to get the cash off the gift card they send you. I was going to have to order this on-line anyway, it's nice that I will be able to have the phone the day that it is available .

so this is the first time buying a phone from a place other then vz directly. do they activate the phone there or do you have to activate it yourself at home or take it to a vz kiosk? was so excited about pre order completely forgot to ask. thanks in advance.
You can do it yourself. It should come with instructions. It's pretty simple, only takes a minute or two. I did it with my Env2.

dependent on price plan like someone mentioned earlier. been with verizon for 15 years now, have always gotten the 100 ne2 untill 2 years ago when i got the 50. think its over 79.99 qualifies you for 100. anything under is 50.

Ok, so what if you already have gift cards from Best Buy. I have over $300 in gift cards at Best Buy, so does that mean I can't use those to pre-order the phone if I went there today?
The only gift cards that will 'put you in line' for the Incredible, will be the ones specifically purchased for that purpose, since that transaction gets entered into their system as being for the Incredible pre-order promo.

You can use other gift cards you have to pay for it when you pick it up, but none of the ones you already have will get you 'in line' for it.

I talked to my vzw rep yesterday and he said that I could stop in and play with an Incredible early this week (maybe even on Monday). Can't wait! He said that the pre-orders will be shipped out on the 29th for delivery on the 30th. Not to worry he's setting one aside for me in the store for pickup on the 29th without the preorder.
Your rep is lying about the ship date. My guess is he wants you to buy it through him (instead of online) so he gets the commission.

A while back there was a video posted that showed how to save battery power. In the video the person was using some application to adjust the CPU speed and other things. Does anyone know what application or where to find the video?

Are you sure about that? The way I understand it we get this discount at the old amount ($100 for me too) but then going forward our next discount is only $50. I don't think the discount will always be $100 for us.

Besides that have you looked at the pricing of the new plans vs. the one you are on? I did and the new plan with unlimited txt saves me $9 a month. Don't know about you but I'll downgrade from $100 NE2 to $50 NE2 to save $108/yr.

I've seen that video too. To be able to change the CPU speed you're going to have to root the phone. I can't find the video right now because I'm at work. Most video sites are blocked and, even if they aren't, our Internet Explorer is so old it usually doesn't work. That won't matter once I get my Incredible!

That makes sence as I've had this account back when they were AirTouch.
Sorry for sticking my foot in my mouth. Didn't know they changed the amounts.

My upgrade is on april 29th (thanks to verizon for moving it up two weeks so I could get my new phone the day it comes out), but I am hoping the store has some in stock. I think I'll call first thing in the morning and have them hold one or call a verizon CSR and have it overnighted! Hopefully I won't be stuck without the new phone!!!

You're exactly right. :)

That's why I purposely put in the part about VZW changing the NE2 deal, and based on your plan, it will show the max discount that someone is eligible for. :)

4 different people might look at their NE2 info online and see 4 different amounts.

Oh my! That would mean I didn't pass elementary school, which then means I would not have gone to middle school or high school. I should not have gone through college, and I should be kicked out of grad school! Oh crap!! :p

What a big deal this is! Most of us started out when this phone was just a prototype glued to a table somewhere in CA at HTC headquarters, and now we are pre-ordering it! We've made it! I'm sure you all are glad you waited...look at those specs.

I've been told by 4 different CSRs and employees in 2 different stores, that as long as I stay on NE2 and am on a rate plan that qualifies for the max NE2 discount, that my NE2 will stay at $100.

Since they lowered the max for new customers about 1.5 years ago, and my account shows as being eligible for the $100 NE2 discount, the info I've received so far seems to bear that out. :)
