Ok guys, here's the bottom line information...
I did my rounds today and here's what i've got.
I pre-ordered via BestBuy... just in case they ended up selling the Incredible early, I didn't want to lose out. Unfortunately this phone will NOT be sold early unless someone breaks the street date.
The woman let me see all the information they received about the phone, I was their first pre-order and I got there around 1pm EST, so it doesn't seem like there are many people interested in the phone around me! She had to figure out how to print the PDF I needed to fill out, meanwhile I read through their whole Incredible pre-sales info (which was different from everything posted here). Everything was information we all knew EXCEPT... there was a very BOLD and UNDERLINED statement that said
DO NOT SELL OR DISPLAY BEFORE 4/29, HARD STREET DATE. She did say that they will have them in earlier, but they cannot break the street date. There you go, no chance of getting the phone early unless you can convince a dummy to sell it to you early, which I will try to do!
Then, i made my next rounds to one of my favorite Verizon Kiosks where I buy all my phones from normally, the girl there knows me so I was asking her about the phone. She basically said that she thought the Droid was going to be the best phone verizon had for a long time, but the Incredible really is worlds above it (no, really!?). Anyway, she said they will absolutely have them in on the 29th, but again confirmed to me that it is HARD STREET DATED, so they can't sell until they open on the 29th. Since i have 5 lines on my account, i asked what can I do since none of my lines are eligible for an upgrade. Since I get a corporate discount she told me I can get 20% off the retail price (which she confirmed was $599 - I would not be eligible for any mail in rebates however), which is good enough for me! Anyway, she was really into the Incredible and said she'd see me bright and early on the 29th, i'm stoked if I really get the 20% off!
Anyway the good thing about the BB preorder is this... if you do it (in hopes that they break the street date), it doesn't matter at all if you don't buy the phone from them in the end. The woman told me just to let them know (to be nice) and I can use the gift card on anything else in the store. You cannot return the gift card for cash, but whatever.
Bottom line is that there doesn't seem to be too much interest around me for the phone and that there is in fact a HARD STREET DATE for this phone. Places will have the phone before the 29th for sure, but are not approve to sell it until then.
Here's the receipt, for those wondering.
