lg Esteem software update

I restarted my phone and it said please leave your phone on for software update.2 minutes later it said fota error and to go to a metro pcs store.I that's a first for me anybody know anything about this?

I got the same thing, Have a custom rom on so not surprised that FOTA did not go through.

what about android version any different?

They may have made a change in the radio software, for the tmo merger maybe it will pick up tmo lte as well as metro:)
 
Yea mine also did the same thing...I woke up and a lil square box update success it also changed to ZVE i had the ZVD so idk what happened
 
Just sold mine and activated it for the lady who bought it from me. I had unrooted/returned it to stock so the update went through after activation to ZVE.
PRL remained 3032 as before..dont see what is different with this version:confused::o
 
Was driving home from work today, plugged in the charger before I started moving, when I got off the freeway I checked my phone & it was restarting,, I was kinda like "wtff!?" & afterwards I noticed it said "software update to ZVE complete" (or successful, I forget which exactly),, I don't see what's new about it,, all my apps were there, prl, the settings, & icons were the same as always. Anyways, side from Facebook seeming slower, all is well.
 
So I'm not the only one.mine didn't go through I do have custom rom.I'm definitly not going to the store.so I guess I can just do it through lg?

Mine was rooted till about 3 weeks ago, I un-rooted it and this update has not gone through yet but i have been noticing every time i turn my phone off and then turn it back on it will set on MetroPCS screen for a good 3 and a half 4 minutes every time, any thoughts?
 
How about we stop all the asking and someone just take a screen shot of this software update cause some have it and some dont it maybe a east or west thing . As you see zve :eek: ijs
 
I restored my phone back to stock ZVB then updated to ZVD and I got the update, current version ZVE. I don't really notice anything new tho. It was an "enhancement" update what ever that means. SW Version MS910ZVE, same PRL version 3032 same Android version 2.3.4. I was also able to root with Revo AIO. Here's a screenshot, sorry for the redness android commander doesn't seem to like this phone too much.

Hey thanks now can i ask was u rooted or nt cause i did the downgrade and upgrade like u did just not rooted yet but been on zvb for 3.5 days and been on zvd unrooted since then nothing . Reason i ask you cause u right up the street from me and nothing yet
 
The way it seems to be, and I would like people that have seen the FOTA to speak up and confirm or deny this, where this update is happening is where tmo lte is starting or has already been.

If that is the case I still think its possible this could be, on the phone end, what allows metro phones to get on the tmo lte spectrum.
 
I was rooted before I downgraded, but after I went to ZVB it was all stock from there. This was all done last night at about 11am-ish(EST) didn't take long at all for them to push the update to me, maybe a good 20min or so after I was on ZVD finished at around 2am. I honestly only did all that to confirm or deny what was in this thread.

Edit(extra info): I downgraded with LGNPST, and used the LG tool to upgrade to ZVD. The ZVE update was automatically pushed out to my phone shortly after.
 
Nahh its not nothing to do with ril or base radios . It is something to deal with a nano backup and the hw version give me a few i will post it ....
 
I spoke with a metro tech a few weeks back and he gave me a heads up that they put the Esteem on the end of life list and one last update would would come through soon but when I got that message a few days ago it, like he stated, mine failed as well, leaving me no trail to find it and every since then, my phone randomly reboots itself and my service has been in and out.. mostly out. I'm about to restore my phone in a little bit.. I can't even pull up a contact without it rebooting

Mine reboots randomly but not constantly, it has become an annoyance though. LTE speeds have become dismal.:mad:

Sorry for taking so long to reply... but no, my phone is not rooted.

Coincidentally, I was actually just searching the forums so I can at least root this thing & remove the metro bloatware,, not having much luck, sadly,, lol I guess I need to lurk more, eh? I also hadn't found if someone was able to 1)root zve yet, 2)create a rom for it, 3)the standard fare for this sorta thing.

Anyways, any help would be nice.. Thanks in advance.
