Is the Droid signal strength as strong as it appears.

I work in the Bakken oil fields. Verizon generally has terrific coverage in the middle of nowhere. However they still have many dead spots. I have an upgrade with Verizon, cant wait to get rid of this Fascinate. I'm trying to decide between the DNA, the Razr HD, or the S3. I really like the DNA but it appears to have many issues. Also many plusses. Trying to figure out which outweighs which. Is the DNA really that much better than the S3 in acquiring signal? Is the rumored wifi connectivity problems as bad as I have been told? Does the sim card glitch pop up as often as some would make it seem? Decisions decisions. I don't want to get stuck with a hunk for 2 years. The S3 seems like the best mix of everything I want, but battery life and signal strength being weak attimes worries me. All I generally do is youtube occasionally, lot of web browsing, a good bit of Pandora, little bit of gaming when bored, texting, facebook...don't use a ton of memory. In 1.5 years with the fascinate I have only taken 439 pictures. I work out of a truck and always have a charger so Batt life isn't really a big deal either.

I looked around but cant really find some of the answers I am looking for.

ps. New around here. Hola all.

Welcome to AF!

The Sim card issue was pretty regular on my old DNA, but haven't had it on my new one yet. I have never run into an issue with any connectivity issues other than that, and I can vouch for a much better 4G connection than the S3, especially in borderline areas.

I have found that the DNA gets as good or better reception as any other phone. Samsung is pretty notorious for poor radios. I have only had the SIM card error once, and not at all recently. I honestly think the DNA is the best phone Verizon sells currently.

O.o

Better than the S4?

This phone just makes me nervous. Course I'm someone who at the moment is on workmans comp who doesnt have the money to randomly buy a new phone if this one decides to suck. Is it hard to return a phone on amazon? They are $150 cheaper than Verizon for the DNA. Or would I just deal straight with HTC in that scenario?

I like the fact I can take my memory card out of my fascinate and put it straight into the S3...

well I have the DNA as well and aside from the constant wireless message on pull down notifications and the fact that bluetooth music doesnt display the song information in my new car i am completely satisfied with this device.

I had issues with buying my sisters Droid Charge from Amazon and swore to never do it again, and I have stuck to my guns on that one. It is a major headache involved in it.

I would consider the HTC One or even the Samsung gs4 and research on their signal reviews. Both phones are smaller than the DNA & pack the latest specs. My DNA is a great phone except for the annoying sim card errors I had but I still keep it until it no longer gets any signal.
