Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] ALIENWARP v2.0.2 (Update v2.0.3 released)

Okay, so I've been running this since the other day, and there's one problem I've run into...it seems whenever I get app updates from the play store it makes my phone freeze and then kicks it back to the boot splash screen (force reboot). Not sure if anyone's ran into this issue on this ROM or any others...is there a way to disable the update notifications from the play store app itself? If not then I suppose it's just a bug or my ******ed phone hahaha

I haven't run into that.
But I always turn off auto update in play store & if I get a notification I clear it and open play store myself and go to my apps and update.

My phone is dying so I have strange issues no matter what rom I run so I try to be cautious what I let the phone do without me starting it.

Ok update in the works ... if all goes well I'll get it up tonight.
It started as just a update for SuperSu but it seemed silly for that to be it so I've been tweaking things and now its faster. Benchmarks are higher and voice search is going to be integrated.

Spencer pointed out that the CPU is not auto setting and I found I forgot to set permissions for it so I will be fixing it and will have the corrected update up after a bit.

For those that have already flashed the v2.0.3 update they can just flash the new copy and will be good to go.

I will post when the corrected update is up.

Ok corrected the permissions for the updated CPU settings and updated ad blocking host file to Mother of All AD-BLOCKING (thanks to BSDgeek_Jake of XDA) This blocks 282822 domains of Adware/Malware/Spyware/Blotware. That's over 10 times my old one.

Please flash the new v2.0.3 update even if you already flashed the one from earlier tonight. The new ad blocking is crazy good.

Third time's a charm

Had to fix the update again voice search was having issues.

Link in OP for Update v2.0.3 has been updated again.

I should probably stop working on stuff when I have a migraine but its fixed now.

Has anyone had problems with random re-boots?

Only random reboot I've had was playing a game for almost 2 hours when I didn't realize I left the CPU cranked to 1.8ghz performance. It fast rebooted and bootlooped 3 times then booted up.

Have you made any performance adjustments, add-ons added, specific app running when it happens, etc.

I had it set at 1.6ghz and changed the scheduler. It did exactly what you described, only I was not doing anything, it was just sitting there. I did have usb storage enabled one of the times.

totally sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. And if I missed it while reading thru the comments. This is my first root. And everything went fine by following instructions on this site. Thank you.

I installed another ROM and it was cool and all but seemed to kill my battery really quick. Then I found this alienware which is also, very cool. Is there something I'm missing because it seems to be crushing my battery life and another dumb question, how do I flash the update. unzip both copy and paste then rezip? Thank you.

Flash the up-date the same way you flashed the rom, as far as whats crushing your battery? Could be several things.
I would check the settings on the kernel, lots of times its set to performance, meaning it is running full throttle all the time. Set the gov, to smartassv2 or on demand.
Check the brightness settings also, crank that down a notch,
Check if wi-fi is always on, turn it off if you are not using it.
:D :) :p ;)

You use cwm or twrp recovery. Just have the update on the SD card and install (flash) like normal. Nothing special ... do not need to unzip.

Any time you flash a rom the battery life will be low for a while (up to a day) then it should even out and have good life. Remember that on custom roms most have the CPU overclocked and that will bring battery life down.
You can use the app voltage control that's included in alienwarp and lower the Max (1024 is stock) and that will help save battery. If you want the new setting to be auto at boot after you adjust then tap menu then tap save as boot settings then tap unit.d script.

Hope this made sense to you.
