Root [ROM][JB4.3.1][JLS36I][Unofficial] Chameleon OS Nightlies [11/9]

It's doing ok for me. scrolling is smooth but the delay between time I tap and actual execution is worse than when I was on stock.

Edit: after a day and a half using it, I've had 6-7 freeze ups that require battery pull. Just can't live with that and the lag/delay issue. I'm running out of ROMs. All of them so far have caused some major issue that made using it as a daily driver completely impractical. Only one left to try out is Pac. Hope it works out or it's back to stock for me. Highly frustrated and disappointed.

Something isn't right there... These are fresh installs with no data restores from some form of backup?

Had to reboot the phone a couple times it gets stuck from time to time... Not too big of an issue... Other that everything is good battery is still holding up and that's with me constantly using WiFi and looking up random stuff ... I pulled it off the charger at about 8 this morning and its 430 and I still have 25 percent so with heavy usage I'm still getting good battery

Today the ROM was very laggy and unresponsive. It also kept doing the system ui not responding... Will flash new build In the morning

I haven't had to many issues. Anyone know how I can use a new lockscreen with a theme I downloaded? It doesn't seem to automatically change when applying new theme.

Yeah I'm on PAC now and its really smooth

Yes PAC is really nice... I am still upset chameleon os is being so iffy. I was enjoying it. Same goes for the Elemental X.. I guess I need to go ahead and start learning more about them and try helping out with some of the issues...

I feel that! Loved ChaOS and ElementalX, just couldn't deal with the issues I was having. Pac is the most trouble free for me so far.

all the jb roms are buggy for our phone. In my opinion the spectrum has some fundamental hardware issues. I really really like jb and will most likely never go back, but As far as the spectrum goes, my best and most stable performance was on stock v6 gingerbread. I remember being on stock v6 for months waiting for the ics update and my phone never ran better. There has been times where I was tempted to just go back to v6 because of how stable it ran for me, but I know I would miss JB.

Obviously this isn't the proper place for this post but since it got brought up I figured I would give my thoughts on the subject.

TBH, other than the occasional random reboot... My phone runs great.

And even on those reboots, it's usually a thermal panic. I'm curious if the changes to thermald.conf vs stock might be causing this.

Now that I'm pretty much done porting TWRP, I'm thinking about writing an init.d type script that writes last kmsg to a folder with a time on each reboot, just so that I have a running tally of reboots in case it does it while I'm not looking... That way if it does it while I'm not looking I still know about it.

maybe start trying to help tweaking the kernel to fix it (might be over my head though). I definitely want to try and add some governors though.

Same for me. But really, random reboots are pretty serious bugs. I've been running pacman for a couple weeks now and overall I'm pretty happy with it, but it would awesome to keep it running for weeks and not get any reboots.

heh. Kill thermald. I doubt it will ever reboot on you.

btw, I haven't ignored you on the request for the log, I have just been super super busy with work and have had almost no free time, and the little bit of free time I have had I haven't spent it messing with my phone. I just can't avoid this forum though so don't let my participation here fool you into thinking I'm always playing with my phone :p
