Hi all,
A week ago my phone updated itself to JB from ICS. Now ICS used to pee me off cos it would regularly crash (maybe twice a day). However, the battery life was fantastic - just last week I was getting 4days between charges.
Now, last week the phone updated itself to JB. Afterwards I was getting lots of "out of memory" errors. So I resorted to performing a factory reset. This (as ever) deleted all my contacts and apps - even though the phone indicates that I had sync'd them with googlemail, it hadn't (the same happened when I upgraded to ICS so I'm half used to this crap feature).
After the reset, no crashes and no "out of memory" warnings. Great.
Battery life is still an issue though. I can now only go 8hours before I have to recharge! This is useless, I don't honestly think I can call this a mobile phone, I need to be constantly connected to the mains. All the settings are the same as I had with ICS, max screen and max cpu - I am not turning them down as I had them at max with ICS, I'd rather go back to ICS then turn these down. Or sell the phone and get a Nokia 3210. My phone is cool to touch all the time, not getting hot. I live in a poor signal area.
My google now is off.
Battery use is approx.:
Android OS - 50%
Mobile standby - 30%
Device Idle - 10%
diminishing etc etc
All I really use the phone for is calls and texting. Should I/can I go back to ICS or GB? Failing that, is there a fix for JB?
Many thanks,
Glen.
