Samsung Galaxy Exhibit MetroPcs

Damn no love for blackberry huh lol they'll be obsolete soon.
Could be that BBY burned MetroPCS the last time they sold their phones, and they don't want to go through with it again. Though I'm not sure what will stop someone from switching a SIM Card from one device to a Blackberry.

Do current blackberry's require connection to blackberry's own servers?

If it does it might not be metro that stops you from using the blackberry, you pop the sim in and the phone gets blocked by blackberry.

lol start water marking ya pics like i did alot of these outside sites never give credits where its due :D

well its a dual core plus gsm lol i know alot of u guys wont be happy till ya see a note 2 or some nexus device lol.

you know I got downvoted for saying it seemed overpriced, I compared it too my motion, I should had compared it to a L9, but they were hung up on 50$ motion being smaller and cdma. I simply wonder how much you tack on for screen size and gsm 4glte. maybe I was just apples to oranges.

First, thanks again for Ellf and those bringing us the new news, it IS appreciated even if it's not what I (we) wanted to hear.

I just sent the Mothership a calm polite cinder block off the forehead backchannel Faceplant message (my 2nd on the subject) about BOTH the two new phones coming (Exhibit, L9)

N4zty, actually I don't need new barnstormer phones. But I Damn Sure Aren't Stepping Back Down *for the same damn money* Either. If Metro wants their peeps to go to a GSM unit it's going to have to be the same or Better unit than they have now for the same price (or better).

You can play hardball and just kill the CDMA making all your current phones useless (as soon as you can) but that may piss off that current owner enough to leave. That Defeats Your Whole Purpose.

You need to make it advantageous and somewhat economical for people to ditch a perfectly good operating CDMA phone for a new GSM model and they AREN'T going to do that stepping down to a lessor phone than they have now. (Especially for the same money as what they spent on their current phone.) I told them, if you want to get ME to GSM here's one way. Allow say customers with > 6 months continuous service to trade in their current operating, in service CDMA model for a SAME model in GSM for a Nominal Fee, say $50-75. That will get me to switch faster than a new crappy phone on GSM for the same money I paid for what I have now that works just fine. (For now)

I would suggest that Everyone who agrees tell Metro so in a Faceplant Message to them. I try and keep the real "headkick" messages to them OFF their main screen as a matter of politeness. They need to hear these "New" phones AREN'T new nor improved.

the thing is, that they dont NEED you to ditch anything right now, CDMA will be up till 2015, i can understand if it would be 6 month before the change and they are still coming out with CDMA that would be a *facepalm moment

but let me ask, is anyone going to have the same phone they have now for almost 2 years?..nope phone breaks, damages, screen cracked blah blah

if the galaxy S4 comes out thats GSM the most likely thing is that you will still change phone, just like people with the S3 sell them and want to try something new. specially with the option of BYOD

point is at this point in time, weather is CDMA or GSM it doest matter by the time 2015 comes you will likely be on you 2nd phone any way.

It has been pointed out by several good sources here that Metro wants to transition people OFF of CDMA as soon as they can.

I am simply pointing out that IMO, these POS not so new phones aren't going to do that.

Nothing more, nothing less.

There have been some T-Mo good shape S3's go for $325 on The Bay. Give it 6 months and those will be down to $275.

And Metro thinks I'm going to pay just (about) $25 Less for a phone that doesn't have anywhere near the specs of the Spirit I have NOW?

They're trippin'

That pretty much settles it right there for me. I can't see there being Any Better Deal PERIOD 6 months-1 year from now than about a used-great shape $275 T-Mo S3.

IMO they will. i understand your point, (Not good enough for you) but you have to offer people something comparable to what they have now, and this compares well with the Lg Motion. you cant come out with a $400 dollar GSM phone right away, you start from the bottom and move up. not everyone can afford a $300+ phone, so in fact by introducing a lower tier GSM phone it would make the transition to GSM alot faster.

in Metro, more people have a lower tier phone than an S3, you move those people first then go for the top tier, not the other way around.

For decent deal(and assuming you want that big of screen) The original Note, att branded, has lte and can use the modem software for tmo thus having AWS Hspa+.
I found one on craigslist here in jacksonville for $250 granted there were others going for much more but the specs on the note are very good even compared to todays phones.

yes exactly what i was thinking! i wast sure about the HSPA+ so thats nice, the only fall back its no LTE but i only get 200MB of LTE so it no big problem for me lol its degradable to Jelly Bean too :)

That is basically what I am looking at here in my stomping grounds, I been seeing as well that the modem change isn't needed, and will pick up lte from T-mobile

They appear to be going for around 250 on The Bay too. I agree, right now, one of the best $250 Used deals to get on The New Deal. It even has JB and the unlocked buttloader.

I still say though in about 6 months, which would be the earliest I'd consider "upgrading", with the T-Mo S4 being out awhile that when their S3 drops to around 275 used that's going to be The Deal.

Not yet. :) Blackberry Z10 is the last chance RIM has to get back into the smartphone race, and I think Z10 will do it. I tried one of these out in Best Buy yesterday, and I have to say it's a very sexy phone, but UI would certainly need some gettin' used to, OS10 is quite different than the OS6 I'm used to; I'd snag it in a heartbeat if Metro welcomed/featured it.

Here is an interesting read: 10 Things BlackBerry Z10 Does That iPhone Can't - CIO.com

If only Z10 had another 90 more things that an iPhone couldn't do (which it probably does anyway LOL), I wouldn't mind seeing Apple die off :D:D:D

Back on topic, that exhibit looks like a decent entry phone. At least it has JB, right? If it's less than $200 that seems OK

They have pretty crappy Michigan coverage. Same with northern Cali

thats the UNDERstatment of the century lol. my wifes parents have t-mobile and they get 1x data. not even 3g... theres more dead zones then there are service areas. there geaked about the merger just so they can use metros towers lol.

Do you know which 2G they have? Sadly tmobile still has both kinds running pretty prevalent, there's the old 2G (GPRS) and the newer 2G really 2.5G (EDGE)

Hell yea bro noticed they stopped taking the pics from my thread lol

idk whats so hard about giving credit where its due smh

i seen early engadget wrote an article about this and gave credit to phonescoop for breaking the news lol

everyone breaking news here from now on should water mark pics. its just the right thing to do.

but its kind of good they dont mention us, if they did, imagine the amount of trolls :banghead:

also this phone with no LTE idk why would that option would even exist
