Root Bricked... Kinda..

So like I was messing with miui. framework.jars one by one, one after another to get sms working and stuff. And like now my phone is screwed.

I can't connect to the metropcs network. It says searching for network or service or something. Never connects.

Went back to stock. And like 4g data is working. But yet I'm still not connected to a network. So I can't send or recieve texts and I can not call.

When I take the sim card out no 4g and it shows me the no sim card thing as it should.

Should I try anything before going to the metro store?

Prl says 40000 ._.

Did some seraching as I should have in the first place

Maybe this will help.

Try reversing all your edits to the framework.jars
If you even can remember them, sucks that this happened to you.

You need to update your prl via *228. Put your phone to data roaming and national roaming. Wait till your phone gets bars then call and update your prl

I've had this problem twice, booo for me. First was flashing HK's cm10 and changing modems without modem backup, then more recently after i compiled a build of cm10.1.

First was magically fixed by flashing HK's modem backup before flashing bobz's cm10. When this problem happened i had nothing, no data, no calls, no nothing. When i tried to manually enter all of the prl, etc, etc numbers they reversed themselves after reboot. This one really sucks.

The second which sounds more like what is going on with you; no service, just data, happened because i changed some settings on the build prop on cm10.1. I enabled the line with "NV, RUIM" then once booted, i chose RUIM in the settings and it did nothing... at first. Then on unbrick i forgot to change back and bam it hit me with this garbage no service issue. Idk if its same for you, but for me it doesnt say Metro PCS on the drop down notification tray, just 311600. booo! I didnt need to go ino the phone info to realize it was my wonderful myster problem again. So i reflashed HK's modem backup just in case, flashed my compiled version of cm10.1 and i got it back. WOOT! lol

If i were you, i would obviously try to correct any changes you have made to anything, then flash the modem backup while flashing to something like bobz's cm10.
I know this sounds like a chickenshit of a fix, but it has worked for me twice, lol.

If you can't get it working with that way, this is actually one of the few things with this phone I have a lot of experience with from using unauthorized phones on boost in the past, basically what happened is you messed up some of the settings on the modem like roachdogg28 said. Start with connecting it to dfs (cdma-tool.com), connect at the top, enter your msl where it says spc then click spc it should say unlocked, then go through the tabs and find where it says prl on the right side, pick a metro prl and click write, then click reset in the top right, see if that fixes it, if not, get qpst and connect, on the tab with the data profiles, make sure there's only the top one listed as enabled, the rest disabled, then open the first one, make sure nai and tethered nai are yourphonenumber@mymetropcs.com spi mn-ha and spi mn-aaa should both be 1234, and the ha and aaa shared secrets should be your msl, when all of that is right, click ok then click write to phone.
That should get everything working, if it doesn't, go to about phone and make sure your phone number is showing up correctly, if it's not, dial ##626* but instead of entering your msl type in 587846, hit nam programming, make sure your mdn (phone number) and min are correct. If you don't know your min you can get it from metro.

Can you explain in noob form please? :C

Flashed the prl with the software you gave me. And still nothing.
And QPST doesn't load my device.
I'm heading to the mpcs store after I unbrick to get rid of root.

Thanks for the useful information though. At least I learned something cx

did you try hidden menu - repopulating @ {##626*}

hk's APN Backup would of saved you or
try a old nandroid if you can get to restore on a Boot .Key Sequence?

if you get back don't forget to *228 to get back to PRL working.

Boot .Key Sequence?
And I can't it says emergency calls only.
And when I do call 911 I suddenly get full bars lol.

Hmm. Do you think It would fix it someone sends me a backup of their partition?

I wouldn't recomend anyone doing that because I'm not sure what exactly his ackups contain but if its the whole nv storage for the modem that would contain their imei/meid, phone number and min, data settings, basically you'd be using their service, and that would be a bad thing not only for obvious reasons but also if both phones connect to the network at the same time metro will flag their account for fraud, no more service for that phone. First time it happens you'll have to talk to metro and get it reset, if it happens again you have big problems.

Aren't you supposed to turn in old device if you buy a replacement??

That depends on the definition of replacement, buying a new phone to replace it you can keep both, because its just like when you bought the first one, a warranty replacement yes you'd have to give the other one back.
