Root How to install CyanogenMod 7.2 - Huawei Fusion 2

Good to know.. BTW this post is almost at 5K views and the root guide is nearing 10K! Keep on posting, thanking, liking, and viewing!
 
Most of the pages on Fusion2.org are back up and running, and the rest should be finished by the end of the night.
 
Just a heads up, i was playing with the cyanogenmod settings for the lockscreen ---->style options----->ring lock style -----> chose blade style

that would boot loop your phone.

Also does anyone know if Cyanogenmod 10 if they fixed the issue with the forced reboots?(when you're using your phone, it just reboots without any warning) or is that just a GB issue?

Yep found it very helpful ;) Took a brand new AT&T Fusion 2 Go Phone fresh out the box, charged the battery and proceeded to blow it away. I read the forums on this in depth and was cool with losing the radio, no big deal to me. Not my first cyanogenmod rodeo, the tutorial was very straight forward and helpful. I'm just curious as to a few things.
1) I seem to have lost the voice recognition (Mic) for the google search tab. How can that be restored? Is this a gapps issue? If so, could someone provide a link or point me in the direction of the correct gapps.
2) Is there anything from the stock titanium backup that you could/should re-install after you have a clean CM7.2 install?
3) After the clean CM7.2 install, i downloaded titanium backup again and now it says it doesn't have root access. Any ideas?

LOL figured out voice search, x that one. Other issues still relevant though
 
The CM7.2 OS ROM isn't available on DropBox -- Error 509 "too much traffic" -- anywhere else I can get it?

I presume after I flash the ROM, I also then have to flash the GAPPS?

Using a Fusion as a "backup" to an Ascend -- in case I lose that.

Sorry about that, Dropbox has done that to a few of my links, the Fusion 2 must be popular now, haha.

I will upload it to my Mega account and post back here when it's finished uploading.

After that Shagerty can update the OP if he so decides.

My UL speed sucks, so give me like 30 Min to have it back.

I made a slightly tweaked version of this ROM that is in English default. I will try and upload once it is verified working! (Like I said I don't have a fusion so I need testers if anyone is game I'll send you the file!)

If you want to tweak a ROM and upload it, no one will complain. Haha.

We are working on another site, dedictated strictly to the Fusion 2 also, if you want to check it out.


Plenty of ROMs to chose from there. Fusion2.org

Most of the people on this section of the android forums have gone there too.


**The file is uploading now.
 
To fix the language problem, open the build prop inside the zip folder(I use notepad++ but the basic Windows notepad will do), and find these lines:

ro.product.locale.language=de
ro.product.locale.region=DE

Change the first de to en, and the second one to US,

It should look like this:

ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US

If I had read the post, I would have changed it before I started the upload.


***Update

I stopped the upload and fixed it, that wont be a problem anymore, the default language is now English.

I will leave that info up for anyone who has the problem in the future, that is how you fix it.

AWESOME!!!! Thanks, heaps, from all current, and future, parties interested in the Fusion -- been frustrated since updating from Stock to something else, this should be great -- to find a ROM that's actively supported - have added the new site to my Bookmarks

Not really, copy.com is my favorite. I just use mega for the links that will generate a lot of traffic.

I put files I need on copy, and I don't want them to block that account too.

I like Mega, I'm just afraid it will get taken down again like the owners previous website.

I found out about copy from this websites news section. I have 65 gigs because of overshadowing(that was androidforums corrected by Fleksy keyboard haha) and a few friends. Lol.

When you share your signup link, they get 20 and you get an extra 5.

that's a really good deal -- best I've seen, apart from Surdoc, which imo, has got lousy reliability

MORE IMPORTANTLY -- does this ROM work on the U8652 -- or just U8665 -- could that be the problem with it not working

I also didn't install the adb drivers you provided, as I've got CWM 4 on my phone already, with the drivers that came with that, or is that it?

OR is there something wrong with the ROM file???

What exactly is the problem that you are having with it?

How far along in the installation process do you get?

Is it a status 7 error(that's okay, totally normal)

know much about the "different" Fusion models - do they in fact exist?

Haha, Yeah, it's early here.

I'm not quite sure I understand the question; what do you mean by "different" fusion models?
