Help Note 2 battery issues

My note 2 normally charges at the speed of 22% per 30 minutes till 90%.. but charges slowly after 90%...and it takes more than 30 minutes to charge from 99 % to 100%... please help

I have read about this type of issue on several different occasions with different devices. It is always difficult to diagnose.

1. Are you using the original supplied charger with the device. My wife's Note II charges fine with our old Moto chargers, but I have heard of off brand chargers being the problem.

2. Try rebooting the phone. This is probably the first thing that you tried, but some folks wouldn't turn their phone off to save their own children, so I had to mention it.

3. The next thing to try is to reset the Dalvik cache on the phone. You will find the menu to clear the Dalvik cache in the same menu where you can hard reset the phone.

4. Try a hard reset. I know it is a pain in the behind, but worth a try, if non of the above does any good.

5. Take it back to the store and get it exchanged. Sometimes the circuitry that does the charging goes bad.

I have heard of all of the above working in various different instances of bad phone charging. Nothing above, except the hard reset and exchanging the phone, cause you to have to re-do everything. The Dalvik cache thing will cause the phone to be slow or sluggish for a day or so.

Good luck and let us know what if any of the above helped.

I m using original charger ... and factory reset doesnt help ... so going to Samsung service center tomorrow .. but vil dey replace my 5 months old phone or repair it ?

Sorry Iceman, I don't have an answer for that, but I believe the guarantee on these devices is 1 year. One would think that they would honor that and most places just replace the unit, but your guess is as good as mine.

My phone sort of does the same thing. It will stay in the upper 90's for a little longer than lower percentages as if the charging slows down.

I don't really see this as an issue, though. The battery takes maybe 2-3 hours to fully charge, and my battery life seems normal. So I don't really care what the battery percentage indicator is doing during charging.

I wouldn't be too worried, I don't believe that there's any issue or problem with the battery, phone, os.....

This.

Keep in mind that Li-Ion batteries don't always accurately report accurate percentages for their charge levels. It may say it's at 90%, but it may in reality be closer to 80% or 85%, which is usually the case while it's charging, so it seems like it takes longer to get fully charged for the last 10% of the charge. You can see this type of behavior in almost all Li-Ion batteries. I've seen it in all of my phones and laptops at least. Same thing when the battery is almost dead. On my old Galaxy Nexus, sometimes it would get down to the last 5% and take forever to die past that point compared to how fast it got down to 5%.

There's nothing wrong with your phone or battery. This is somewhat typical behavior for anything with a Lithium Ion battery in it.

Mine does the same thing. I don't think it's an issue at all. It's just how they report your charge.
