Im sure im not the only one planning on buying a Micro SD card before the INcredible gets here.

Does it matter what micro sd card i buy or are they all the same?

If it does matter then which cards are the best for the INCredible?
 
I am planning on getting a microSD card also. I would recommend SanDisk cards since they are the most reliable. I have heard of cards from other manufactures not working on certain phones. Right now, the highest capacity one is 16 gb. I recommend buying that one at a microcenter since they sell it for $50. Sandisk will release a 32 gb model soon, but that will be $200.
 
Just make sure you get one that's at least Class 6 or you'll suffer from slow reads/writes. That's not something you want on a fast machine like the Incredible.
 
I saw Verizon had a sale today on Memory Cards and was thinking of buying one for my future Incredible. I know Class 6 cards are the fastest, but where exactly does it tell you what Class the card is? (See link below)

I use the SanDisk ones as stated above and they are class 2. I have never had a problem with their read/writes. The reason is because using the card on a device like a phone doesn't benefit from the speed increase since it will never use it. The only benefit is when transferring a lot of files from your computer to the flash drive. Even with a class 2, it is still pretty fast.

Here are MicroSD cards by # of reviews at Newegg. I'd just narrow it down to what size you want, then find one with good reviews aligning with what you're willing to spend. Don't buy from places like Verizon or Best Buy, they are almost always overpriced (especially Best Buy). I usually shop exclusively at Newegg or sometimes Amazon for electronics.

Where it is not a issue right now if google get it to where we can use apps off the SD card then it will mater. So I agree with those that are saying get a class 6 card since it is more future proof.

So as long as it's a microSD card from a reputable seller, you're good. Class speed won't matter until we can install apps on it. For music and video storage, Class 2 works.

The highest capacity card is 32GB currently and can be had for under $100.

Actually, I come from windows mobile and I was able to put apps on my class 2 SD card and it worked fine. I was able to run about all my apps off of my sd card while multitasking.

Even though Class 6 is future proof - that future is really far away. By the time a class 2 bottle-neck would appear, we would have moved from the microSDHC standard to the microSDXC standard and the 45nm technology to the sub 20nm technology, but thats for the future.
 
I was planning to go with a class 2 card but was give a few links on these forums about Eris users who upgraded their storage cards to class 6 from class 2 and it completely changed the responsiveness of the phone. There was a noticeable difference in the performance across a number of users. Plus, since I'll want it to read movies from the card, I ddin't want that to affect playback. Also, folks reported that the speed of the card also changed the amount of time it took to take pics and was much faster between shots. I found a good enough deal on Amazon for a 16gb class 6 with lifetime warranty and good reviews. Several people reported average write speeds of 7-8mg which is higher than class 6. So I'm excited about it.

BTW, I'd do some checking before investing in the new Kingston 16gb class 10 micro cards. A lot of users have reported being very disappointed in the speed and some said that it was roughly the same write speed as a class 2 card. Most seem to agree that it was definitely not worth the extra money.
 
Just imagine transerring 16gb worth of data and you only have 10min to fill it up before you go.

Class 2 makes me want to pull my freaking hair out... waiting for it to fill up connected to my computer.

class 6 ftw.
