Well, I pre-ordered my Incredible at Best Buy today. The guy told me they'd call me a couple days before the 29th since they're going to be getting them shipped in on the 29th and they're not sure if they'll come first thing in the morning or afternoon or what. He said I'm 3rd on the list right now so I should be getting mine among the first.

Weird though that they're scheduling time-slots for you to come in and pick it up...

agreed, also....

Ugh, look at how washed out the gnome's hat is. I'm sticking with my iPhone!

I just called VZW - they said that they know there's currently an issue with logging on, and they anticipate having it resolved within the next few hours. He seemed confident that it would be resolved before the end of the day.
Now we play the waiting game till we're told that they didn't order enough devices and that any orders after 12 noon EST will be back ordered until 5/29 ;)

You guys are almost as worst as Apple fanboys.

Come on, dude give us a break! :o

The phone JUST officially came out for pre-order today. Most of us have been anticipating this phone for months. Can you blame people for being a little resentful when you bring us down like this? Give us a few days at least!

You have some legitimate concerns about which phone suits you, but neither phone is even out yet! NOBODY can answer your questions. No one has played with either phone.

In the meantime, we'd all appreciate it if we can talk about the Incredible, you know the phone this forum is based on.

I wasn't aware that with two phones only the primnary line gets my corp. discount of 18%. Was not happy to hear about that esp. after the guy at the VW store told me it would be on both lines. Any one else in the same boat here?

My wife and I both work for the same company and get 25% off of accesories. We get 22% off our monthly family plan but only the primary line gets discounted for data.

So did anyone else pre-order at Best Buy? I asked the rep if it was possible to pick up the phone earlier and she said no, that its a hard launch date.

I went to BB today to see if they got any dummy phones in and all they had were pictures printed out from the web. I asked if they knew when they were getting the DI in since it is in their Sunday ad for 4/25 and they said they were not sure but as soon as the phones come in they are calling people who pre-ordered to pick them up. They said that is what they always do. So unless they get a memo telling them that they can't this sounds good to me.

hi there, this is my first post. I have been trying to order this phone for almost 3 hours now and no go!! So frustrating..this is my first smartphone, so I am excited. Plus I have been out of contract for almost a year, and VZW sent me a letter saying they would pay for a month's bill if I renewed! I was going to get the Eris, but I didn't want to get it until it got it's upgrade. Well as of today it still doesn't have it, so I am so happy I waited and am getting the incredible. My old phone is an LG from 3 years ago.. it has a broken hindge, but it still works! Anyway, I am sure I will be writing in with lots of questions because I know nothing about these phones. Here's hoping I get my preorder done soon!!

Here's how Verizon thinks the Incredible stacks up against its main competition. Against both internal devices and ones from other carriers...enjoy!

I'm also SOOO happy for all you Incredimaniacs...you'll all soon have your device and we can kick of the next chapter of this forum which is taking an incredible thread, and transforming it into an incredible forum section! Christmas comes in April this year!

suraman, you might wanna read that article about the iphone 4g. one of the things you were knocking the incredible about is build quality. well, the article states that the entire back of the new iphone is plastic. so it probably wont be any better build quality than the incredible....just something to think about. also, the phone now has seams on it (as far from unibody construction as oyu can get) so it might be more susceptible to getting dust in, and the smaller screen is kinda a downside (I know you mentioned that). all in all it isnt a bad looking phone (although i would never buy apple just because of the locked down operating system) but like I said before, you can't really compare anything to the new iphone since no specs are known and the design will probably change before release.

Thank you for being nice. I have also been waiting for this phone for awhile and im just dissapointed. I was on here when the HTC Passion thread was started

Yea but ill be using my NE2 on the Incredible and id have to get it a month before Apple's conference to be able to return it.

I guess I just don't understand why you don't get an Incredible now. In June or September or whenever a VZW iphone comes out you can get that if you still want it then. No offense meant, but why would you want to keep your currect phone the next several months when you could be using an Incredible?

You guys are almost as worst as Apple fanboys.

The best device out there for hardware is the N900:

1. 3430 chipset (faster than Snap when OC to 800mhz)
2. 32gb built-in of flash AND a microsd that works with 32gb.
3. A very fast and responsive camera ("only" 5mp, but takes great pictures) that also has a professional lens (with slide cover)
4. Very responsive screen that works well with a stylus or touch
5. Good keyboard
6. Adjustable voltage wifi for weak signal areas.
7. Stereo speakers that sound better than they should
8. Amazing sound quality from the 3.5mm jack that also has a built-in audio amp feeding to the jack (nice).
9. Plays about every video codec there is (not just MP4).
Added: 10. FM radio AND transmitter

The killers that offset this goodness, are Tmo 3G bands (sparse) and though Maemo rocks for tech geeks, it pretty much blows as a phone centric device.

I still love my N900 as a killer media system and micro netbook :)

If you are disappointed then just move on. You shouldn't need us to convince you to buy the phone. There are plenty of people waiting for the Verizon Iphone. You can go hang out with them. If you decide to buy the Incredible, then you are welcome to party with us on the 29th.

what is the best in depth review about the incredible you have read thus far? I haven't been able to find too many great (in detail) ones.

OT: Congrats on the promotion ;)

Anybody notice for "global" under Nexus One it says, "Carrier Specific". Um... is that Verizon's big surprise for the N1?

my friend at work has a n900 and it is a nice phone. the only things that kept me from getting one is the form factor (jus too thick for me) and the resistive touchscreen. (if this thing was more pocketable and had a capacitive touchscreen I would have had a hard time deciding between it and the incredible)
