T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE (SGH-M919) ON METRO. South Fla. area

So i've got my hands on this bad boy,
now i'm just trying to figure out how to connect it.
The phone's currently not on the MPCS website listed as 'BYOD compatible', nor is South Florida in the list of 'BYOD ready markets'
So at this point im just trying to figure out if there's a way to connect it thru Metro.
Has anyone had any luck trying to use a GSM SIM(from a BYOD ready market) in another market?
Also i find it weird that this is the T-mobile version (GSM LTE) and its not listed on the website, of all phones, i'd think this would be one of the firstly available phones due to its specs. Is it that Metro doesnt want to list it since the Metro S4 is coming next month?
Right now im using my S3 but i want to connect this S4, i guess i'd just rather do it thru Metro since spectrum is finally improving, and i wouldnt have to go thru the hassle of doing it thru another MVNO, although StraighTalk or T-mo prepaid could be options.
Any input will be greatly appreciated

i'll be glad to be the guinea pig and share my findings with you fellows, just as long as someone can tell me,

that is is a goood question you know anybody in the areas with it that can send you one lol

i actually got a stepsister who lives in Vegas, i just dont want to make her bust missions,
As in, she'll walk in, ask for it, get it, walk right back out.
Knowing these useless Metro 'reps' they'll have her waiting for half an hr at least, just to call her up and ask her all these stupid knowitall questions, to which she will not know how to respond.
Can anyone confirm if these cards are available for purchase without having to provide any account information or device information?
This would only be an option if like i said they are sort of off the shelf, with ease of purchase.

I believe one reputable source here *coughMoleMembercough* has said you have to physically take your BYOD phone into one of the Mothership pods so they may place upon it the sacred mark of the GSM beast.

Your best bet have someone (your stepsister) open an account with metro, one month only perhaps get the cheapest phone, or use her own gsm phone, then pull the sim and mail it to you, granted you will have a new number and account but then you could *wink* move and tell them you moved from vegas and want to get a miami local number or even port your number to it.

this would actually work better then trying to change your current plan as it wont screw you if it doesnt work

see the thing i disagree with metro is they released this new byod plan on a market where people dont bother running into a store get a new plan or phone out. i can gurantee you if they would of released that plan in florida first we would of had people in here discussing their experiences with such plans. i would of been here posting snap shots of speed test and what not. but noooooooo lets all release it in a city thats nortorious for "what happens in vegas stays in vegas"........ epic i haven't even seen youtube vidoes of a single dealer in veags talking about how this new technology is working for them so far. conspiracy i tell ya they just want us to spend money to fly over there and pony up some cash. lol

Think I've only seen 1 person on here with BYOD and they said they got no signal but then theres like a thousand people wanting it

well i read the op but its unclear is he using a metro sim card or just that one phone.

I remember seeing that but there are so many reasons they wouldnt get it working and if they dont trouble shoot it... well I would guess it wouldnt be that difficult to fix.

Might be one reason metro wants all devices brought in store, when your used to cdma trying to track down gsm problems might be difficult.

see my confusion from the op post is for these reason are u just using an unlocked t-mobile phone and trying to get it to work on metropcs???? i know its not a metro branded gs4 cuz the metro gs4 has not even been released yet. and just beacause your using a phone from t-mobile does not mean it will work with the new metro-tmobile towers. bottom line if its a gsm phone u need two things one is a metro sim card not a uicc card and second that phones need to be unlocked.

Are you sure it needs to be unlocked because with all the other MVNO's that use tmos network if you just put in the SIM in a locked tmo phone the phone recognizes it as a home network SIM

And I sent him a private message asking if he got fixed up.

Didn't hear anything back except the chirping crickets.

Calm down and be patient my friend :D

yeah the stepsister option sounds too much like a missions specially considering she uses cricket herself in Vegas.
I guess ill wait for more input to be said.
Couple news, big win tonight for the Heat which resulted in me cracking the screen on my S3 lmao. the S4 came in the mail today its just sitting in my room i got a month to figure out what exactly to do with it
