Root Switching to 4.2.2

What ROM will give me best battery life on 4.2.1 and above? 4.2.2 preferred. I'm starting to get bored of BluROM and it's been abandoned for a little while now, and I barely use my 3D camera.

Dastins WILD FOR THE NIGHT (CM10.1) has been doing my phone very good for a few months now. I cant judge battery life since I have 3 batteries that I swap out.

Not necessarily. If he has three batteries that don't hold a charge, then that would be why...

As far as 4.2.2 ROM's go, I've had best luck on ChameleonOS and PACMan for battery life. Of course, your mileage may vary depending on what you have setup, when you have stuff sync, etc.

My personal rundown:

Most up to date and most tweaks, DU or PacRom. DU has horrible battery life but PacRom isn't anything to brag about either but the tradeoff is all the tweaks and whatnot you get with it.

Angry Bean is the best battery life IMO and one of the best all around performance w/o many glitches but appears is having one right now with MMS.

Wild for the Night is right up there with Angry Bean due to a lot similarities but doesn't get the support it used to and in my experience isn't as stable as Angry Bean.

Evervolv has released nightlies and IMO has the fewest bugs and best battery life of all the 4.2.2 Roms. The tradeoff is there aren't a lot of tweaks and the Evervolv kernel lags a bit compared to others but is smooth. You'll also have to flash in some extras like upgraded Music and other tweaks.

ChameleonOS has a different theme than the others and is pretty fluid but this is a WIP and running it for a few days and introducing more apps and tweaks to it causes things to start and break down.

Probably some more I'm forgetting at the moment but these are the one's I've used recently.

My advice is to try them all at least once starting from the top of my list and find which one suits you best.

Thank you. :] PAC seems great so far! Anyway to get Haptic Feedback working on the bottom Nav keys of our phone? I liked it when they vibrated.

Doesn't that in itself say something about the battery life?

My batteries never fall below 40%ish, I swap them out before I go to work or if I'm going out just so I have a full battery. I'm just weird like that; thats why I cant say much about the battery life because I've never actually had my battery die.

Yay! A place to ask about this in a relevant way! Why is there so much battery drain with 4.2.2 roms? That's normal right?

The only one that I didn't experience that much drain was with Midnight Rom: Jellybean, but I'm not even sure if that's 4.2.2 because I don't really know anything about Android. But anyways is that normal? And if so, what makes it worth it? I hope that's not too off topic

Usually battery drain isn't the ROM since most of our ROMs are optimized, its the apps being ran, and the shitty screen on this phone.

Google now sucks the juice

I've def. noticed that ICS roms suck up a lot more juice than JB roms. Does changing the kernel governor help save battery?

When I put Evervolv on Airplane mode, in 6 hours of no usage it sucks up 2%. D:

I hope you don't mind me asking for a clarification. About battery life for Angry Bean and Evervolv, you said really similar things. Which one is more battery friendly?

Thanks!
