Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Good morning all.

The hockey game was absolutely bonkers last night. Honestly one of the best Stanley Cup finals that I have ever watched. What a way to end the series though - an entire momentum shift in 17 seconds, incredible.

Good morning folks!

Uh, no... I haven't had a reason to flash another stock camera app. I have CameraZoom FX and HDR+ apps, but neither will have photosphere. Sorry :o

I figured out Crystal Ball, Halon.

What it does is sit hidden on the left side of the screen. When you get a notification, you can drag it out to the right and it will open a pop-up window of the app you were notified about.

Example: If you get a notification that I replied to this, the Crystal Ball will actually overlay the AndroidForums (or Tapatalk) app OVER your homescreen, so you can interact with it at will. When you're done, just touch the background homescreen, the pop-up disappears, and the Ball will float gracefully back until the next notification.

Pretty clever, actually :)

1. Oh okay thanks - maybe I will switch Camera apps then. I'll test some of those out.

2. That sounds like they took Halo from PA and rebranded it as something else if its how you described.

Looks like I missed Copacetic's b-day yesterday. Happy late Birthday!!

We're keeping our nieces (2 and 4 years old) and spent the day at the waterpark yesterday. Back to work for me today though. Should've used a high SPF sunscreen yesterday....I hate sunburns.

I'm still not a fan of smartwatces. But if I were to get one it would be the new Sony. It looks so much nicer than the Pebble.

And the Sony Z Ultra. I will say that thing looks very nice! It would be a little strange holding that thing up against my face for the phone function. However, I rarely use my phones for voice(I think last month I had 5 minutes of talk). One cool feature of the phone is you can use a pencil as a stylus.

Have you seen a Pebble in real life though? Honestly (and not because I have one), but I think it looks 100x better on my wrist than it does in photos.

I know Sony is claiming 3-4 days battery life, but I feel with a full color touchscreen it will not last that long at all.

And honestly the best part of the Pebble is the huge development community behind it. Your product is only as good as the developers coding for it.

I haven't seen one in person. I'm not even a fan watches in general. Probably haven't worn one in 20 years? I'm just going by pics.

Yeah I really like my pebble, even though I don't use it near to the level that Stigy does. My favorite part is walking around the house with my phone on the charger, and still seeing all my texts and other stuff.

Alton Brown is probably the best, most scientific chef on the planet. His thanksgiving turkey recipe is the best. Period.

Yeah, sorry. I meant to say Alton Brown earlier. Love him. Got his first 2 cook books from Good Eats, love them. Not sure if the third version came out yet. But we love 'em.

For the most part, yeah, he's good. However, watching his show on homebrewing beer makes me want to throw a brick at the tv. So much stuff wrong there. :banghead:

Well, my Bulldogs went 0-2 against UCLA. Maybe next year. Hats off to the UCLA staff for preparing a team that was built to win the CWS if they got there. That team was built from bottom to top to play in TD Ameritrade ballpark. The offense batted well under .300 for the year but relied on speed, bunts, and a few well-timed singles. They didn't need hits to the gap or homeruns to score. The pitchers were fly-ball pitchers and with only 3 homeruns the entire CWS (2 by future MLB power hitters that were line-drive shots that barely cleared the fence down the line), that played right into their staff. In most major league parks, MSU would have had a minimum of 3 homers against them in these 2 games.

I've never seen it and glad I never did then if its that bad.

In better news I am going to be an Uncle in December. My future sister in law is having a baby due Christmas Eve - so excited!!

Few things in life are better than being an Uncle ;) It's the fun part of having kids without the day to day grind, lol.
