Help new to android and seeking help

I've recently purchased a HTC one sv phone which comes with android and HTC sense. My android has updated to 4.1.2 and I presume when an update to android 4.2 becomes available my phone will automatically offer me the update???

The more I delve the more I find myself asking questions to Google, such as..

how do I cut, copy and paste text? When I hold my finger down and highlight an area I see a tick appear on the top left of the screen next to four symbols. Feint square around 4 bold dots,scissors and paper, duplicated paper and clipboard.

Is there a way of saving apps directly to my ad card?

How do I manage files...such as an mp3 I downloaded with goseek, how do I play it?

Any help with the above will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, IF your provider cooperates.

You can move SOME apps to your SD card with the free app "App2SD". Other apps need to be sitting in internal memory to be able to work and will refuse to be moved to your SD card.

Just tap it and your MP3 player ought to come up.

I seem to remember there are 2 updates for the SV to get from ICS to JB. (ice cream sandwich-> jellybean). Keep checking for updates until no more are offered, even if you have just updated.

I had success moving big apps or games with folder mount, you need to be rooted (phone unlocked) there's a free version but it only lets you move a few. I didn't have success with the other apps.
