Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Ugh - mom is up for a new phone and I just don't know which way to steer her. For ease of use I'd put her on an iPhone (yeah, yeah, I know but believe me, it would simplify things I think), but she is used to Android so it's not like learning a brand new thing. I want her to look at the Note 2 since she has issues with the screens on phones not responding to her touch so the S-pen would be a huge asset. I'm just worried about the size of the phone compared to her Incredible2. I think next Monday may have to be 'phone outing day'. :D

Geek - I was thrilled to hear you're having 2 boys! About spit my water across the keyboard at Weston & Easton though. :p

I had an amazing weekend with a friend and his kids. We went to Ocean City, NJ yesterday and spent the morning on the beach (and have the sunburn to prove it) and the afternoon on the boardwalk. I loved it. Our daughters got along really well all weekend.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Thanks BB :) Glad you, and others, got a good chuckle out of the Weston/Easton thing.

Sounds like you had a fun weekend!

You know, I thought having only 16GB and a locked up battery would be issues for me on my N4, but this thing lasts all day with 5 hours or more of SOT.

That said, I, too, am unimpressed by these new Moto phones. Even the current vaporware that is the X seems compromised.

Demands :D for my next phone are...

1080p IPS panel
Quad-core processor (currently have that and it's all I need)
2GB RAM (Got that, too, but I'd take moar)
16GB ROM (Again got that, too, but I'd take moar)
Good low light camera
And of course, it must be a Nexus

It has to have that fifth pony core that uses next to no power when the phone is idle too.

Yeah, I think I want an IPS as well. Quad-core doesn't matter to me really. Would definitely be nice though.

I honestly think for my next phone I will require it to NOT be a Nexus. Google just doesn't put enough support for different bluetooth stacks in AOSP. Now that my vehicle has a sync system, I want it to function as more than just a bluetooth speaker.

Well, crap, let me just revise my list...I keep thinking of more stuff.

-1080p IPS screen
-5-core processor with 4 main cores and a 5th off-load low-power core
-Near 3000mah battery
-2GB RAM
-16GB storage
-Low light performance-oriented camera
-Will only accept Nexus if Google starts baking in more support for bluetooth and wifi-direct in to AOSP

I personally don't see the need for a 1080p screen on a phone. I have 1080p on my Transformer Infinity, which is a SuperIPS LCD-display and on that I feel it's worth it. On a 4-5 inch screen, I just feel like it's a waste of power pushing that many more pixels to the screen which I probably won't notice in every day use. I would like a bigger battery though.

Good news for the day, teeth cleaned and no cavities. On the downside the wife ran over a machine bolt and needs four new tires.

So, the tires on the car squashed my hopes of a nice Anniversary dinner, but things are looking up. Just scored free tickets to Paul McCartney at Fenway tomorrow.:)

Other than some garage bands at bars or campgrounds, I've never been to a concert before.:eek:

Sadly I've only been to one. I'm ashamed to say that it was Jessica Simpson. I bought the wife, at the time, two tickets and for some reason I went. So stupid

---------------

I think this would sell well.
