Hello BSydz,
I'm trying your June test and May kernel. Wiped all the data and installed.
1) Wipe Data/Factory Reset
2) Wipe Dalvik Cache
3) Flash pa_triumph-1.6a-25JUN2013-202848.zip
4) Flash BSydz_PA-kernel-06MAY2013-201202.zip
5) Flash symlinked-gapps-ics-20120429-signed-Ver3.zip
6) Flash Google Now
Booted up and restarted a few times to make sure, WiFi can't find networks. Can't scan or connect manually. Going to try now without kernel and see if there is better results.
Long time fan here, glad to finally help out.
Thanks for testing and the feedback. I can definitely say wifi is not an issue with any of the released PA ROMs, so there must have been an issue with the flash process. What recovery are you using? I see you flashed now after gapps, that may have done it but I don't know, just a thought.Tried the June test without flashing the May kernel. WiFi was still out. Went back to May 2013 PA and WiFi was restored. However, I noticed that there was a considerably nice increase in FPS and screen change with the June system. Also when switching to airplane mode the WiFi turns off, unlike the May version can it be reverted back to only changing cell service? Would have tested more but need WiFi in the deadzone up on the mountain. Keep up the great work hope to see more great work come from you!
I also worked in both of the security patches MikeRL posted here. It's good to go, with a more up to date kernel. It seems to be pretty quick, and it should stay more stable over time. With the July tester is it good to go or should we still flash the May kernel?
Thank you.I've been happily using your Sharp ROM for quite a while, BSydz, but I think this latest version of your PA ROM is about to make me switch! So far it's been running nice and smooth. One of my professional apps (TeamViewer v8) was a bit buggy in Froyo, but is working great on this ROM.
I've successfully changed the bootanimation.zip file (slightly different location in this ROM vs Froyo/Sharp). I noticed there is no startup sound, which is better than Virgin Mobile's startup sound, but on the Sharp ROM I had added a small MP3 that went well with my bootanimation file. Does Paranoid Android have a startup sound file? I looked for one and could not find it. I tried adding a PowerOn.ogg file to system/media/ui, and made sure the permissions were rw-r--r--, to match the other sound files, but the startup was still silent.
After some more usage there seems to be an issue with games closing, I am trying to figure out what is causing it. I'll post as soon as I figure it out. It's good to go, with a more up to date kernel. It seems to be pretty quick, and it should stay more stable over time.
I did notice an issue over the weekend, and I know somebody posted somewhere in the thread, about games just crashing out of the blue. After looking at the logs it has to do with google services, and is remedied by booting to recovery and reflashing Gapps. I don't know why but that seems to fix it. Just one of those things.I'll put a note in the OP.
Hope this helps.
Thank you. I tried it, but it did not work for me. The problem might be the MP3 file, itself, or a compatibility issue with the PA ROM. The MP3 file plays fine on the Sharp ROM, but shows up as damaged, and is unplayable on the PA ROM. Other, larger MP3 files play okay on both ROMs, so maybe PA has a minimum quality requirement? The MP3 that does not play on the PA ROM is 64kbps / 22 kHz, and the others that do play are typically higher quality 128kbps / 44 kHz, or better. I'm going to redo the lower-quality MP3 and see it that makes a difference. This might help you, also I am looking in to the code too.

EDIT: I think I found it, it was the EGL libs, I had been using the EGL libs from the Xperia Play (Zues) and they were not used in the older version that I am working with now. I changed the kernel and system but haven't got to the libs yet. This should fix a lot of stuff.

I've been running your July Tester and just flashed this update today as well. Most everything has been working really fast and nice, however I seem to be having trouble sending picture messages. It will say its sending for like 30 minutes or more before it actually sends it and I don't attempt to send pic messages unless I'm on Wifi. The only other head scratcher is when the phone has a 30% charge it will sometimes shut down saying it has no battery left. Upon reboot it will show 0% battery, however if I pull the battery for a minute and put it back in it will boot with the 25-30% charge![]()
That's probably a bad battery, I have one that acts like that consistently, if you take the battery out put it on a flat surface and flick if it spins then the battery is going bad, the battery will still work just lasts for a lot shorter time

I was wondering a bad battery too, when I was running CM7 I had this problem a lot. However with PA CM9 the problem all but went away and never occurred with the June Tester. I was actually amazed at how well the battery was lasting with PA CM9, this is the first time its done this since I've been on PA CM9.
I just let the battery totally die and charged it to full with the phone off, pulled the battery for a few minutes, plugged back into charger to ensure I had a full charge and restarted. I'll see if it happens again. Maybe the fact that I only had a 40% charge when I installed the July tester had something to do with it.
I am still having issues sending picture messages though. Connected to Wifi so there is no data issues and its taking the phone 30 min to send a pic message. Its really not that big of a deal to me, but just reporting it as it is a tester![]()
I don't know why but I get low performance with the JUL 20 rom. I really like the JUN 25 Rom which gave great performance. But I'm going to factory reset it and install it that way and see if that fixes the issue.
Edit:
After doing this, it helped a little but I still get low performance compared to the JUN 25 rom. Also this rom seems to use a lot of ram memory.
Picures are sent along the 3G network exclusively. It won't send them through WiFi. Unles you have a third party app that does it for you.
ICS does use a lot of RAM. JB does even more. It's the price we pay for having an OS that is squeezed on to a phone.

Have you tried wiping the battery stats in recovery?Originally Posted by cowboy44mag![]()
