Our IMAX theater now gives out seating reservations. Weird but helpful if you have a lot of people or want a certain seat.

I don't get that... why would anyone want to "reserve" a seat only to find out that it's the one that the kid peed in the show before... or to get stuck next to the guy with massive BO... or find that the seat is broken. I get the basic idea (not at the front row or back corner unless that's what you like) but it just seems like too much could go wrong.

Ugh this is why I could never give up unlimited data.

If it ever comes to that, I am going to AT&T I think.

I'm really having a hard time justifying NOT buying the Moto X. It's assembled in America and I found out last night that even several of the chips used are made here. They really tried to put as much America in this phone as they could. I can't NOT support that.

The specs aren't that impressive but I do think that Motorola spent their time wisely in making efficiency improvements instead of trying to put gaudy specs in the phone. I think the spec war is coming to an end and manufacturers are really going to start having to prove their engineering prowess in making improvements elsewhere instead of cramming another GB of RAM, bumping up the megapixels, and bumping up the processor speed to sell phones.

Plus who wouldn't want a wood phone?! I freaking love that idea. If they roll out a higher spec one I may be all over it.

Honestly I just want a phone that will last me the 2ish years that I own it for. That's all I ask.

PS - The wood phone is gorgeous:

Anti, I really don't even think I care about a higher spec phone. I think the processor and GPU will be enough to last 2 years easily. It's got 2GB of RAM, 720p screen, 16gb storage (plenty for me). Really nothing more I'm concerned about.

EDIT: I do indeed LOVE that light color wood with the white trim.

One thing to think about, will be warranty/insurance. If you have a customized phone and it breaks, do you get an identical replacement? Or is it a generic white or black one...

With over 2000 custom designs that's really cool. Bit will it last 2 years, because we don't even know what phone will be like in 2 years.

I think warranty-wise they would have to give you a customized version just like you ordered. Insurance...after a certain time period they aren't even required to give you the same make and model of phone...so you're probably looking at generic black or white with insurance.

I really think the Moto X is headed in the right direction. I think phones are going to look a lot more like the Moto X in the coming years. Less focused on gaudy specs, more focused on optimizations in the hardware.

I'll wait for the reviews to start coming in after some use time and then maybe pick it up.

It is a gorgeous looking phone and Motorola always has nice hardware. I just hope the bootloader gets unlocked, but I am pretty confident it will with how good the dev community is.
