With a major NYC event, it doesn't make any sense to not flip the switch in NYC. They were supposed to get it in the early 1Q, but with all those high rises, I'm not surprised by the outcome.

Would make perfect sense too if Sprint wants to target the Business users with the EVO! Just imagine the buzz if Sprint can make a big splash in NY/Wallstreet - I'm thinking great reviews from the Wallstreet Journal ahead :) Also - I wonder if those large LED billboards in Times Square have HDMI input...see where I'm getting at ? :D

Hello everyone, I'm new here.

I was going to mention another use for the kickstand. Using the Kickstand coupled with a Wireless controller for games and roms.

For me the kickstand is great because I will have this phone on my desk at work all day and am hoping I can set it up to show the time, weather and have an RSS feed or something similar all going at the same time.

Lindseybp Welcome to the Forum! This is a great community pack with lots of information about the EVO, which as you are most of us are looking forward too!

Just found this site and registered. Nice to find others who are looking forward to the EVO. I'm in Cincinnati and hoping to get 4G here sometime this summer. I currently have a Crackberry and hate it. Work pays for it but due to budget cuts I have to ditch it which is a blessing in disguise since the EVO is coming out.

Last night I stopped by a TMob kiosk in the local mall to look at the HTC HD2 just to get an idea of size for the EVO. That screen is HUGE! I couldn't believe how great it looked also. Now I'm seriously considering selling my iPad once I get the EVO since I could see myself doing all my casual web surfing on that beautiful 4.3" screen.

Ok so who is going with a group on D-Day to pick up your Evo? What plans do you have to go get it? Are you going alone? Are you going to make a line? Like be there early?

There are about 3 of us 3 work that are going to get it, so we will be @ the sprint store waiting to open that day. Then come to work and show it off lol. @ work we are all techies so mad love for the phone.

Eh, I'll probably superglue my kickstand down if it becomes a problem.

Yes, I'm serious...

It'll just be me, but I plan on getting to the sprint store early with a couple donuts, choc. milk, and a radio just to have something to do. Maybe I'll bring some donuts for the Sprint employees?

it is ok..if u turn the data off when not using it, the battery is better but i keep two batteries with me at all time...one in the phone, one in my pocket and one at home charging.

Be careful with batterires in your pocket. Search my name and post of my battery warning on PPCgeeks. Also, Engadget did a write up on it. Mine exploded (not while wearing the pants, but after they had been sitting for a little) in the back pocket. Could have caused a huge fire had the pants not been burried in other laundry. Probably didn't have enough oxygen for a fire. But, having them in your pocket exposes them to possible damage causing the fire.

While Mr. Swansea is very trolly, that Jackson Reilly has definitely been posting on the Evo facebook page for a while...not to mention his friend Dan that lists him as a brother on Facebook. I've assumed it was him all along but didn't want to bring personal lives into this forum since it's not really appropriate.

Anyway swanseauknauk, what's the big deal anyway that some kid is involved on a tech forum? Is that what kids break balls about these days? Big effen deal if he posts on a cell phone forum. This stuff is a hobby for plenty of people and certainly not the most geeky thing on the internet.

Detroit is still one of the top 15 or so largest cities in the country, and definitely one of the top 10 metro areas.

Why we don't have it yet, or aren't planned, is beyond me.

EDIT: Based on the 2000 census, 11th largest city (Detroit) and 11th largest Metro area (Detroit - Warren - Flint - Livonia.
NYC doesn't have it , LA doesn't have it. Wait your turn :D

I meant my AT&T Tilt. I might just recycle it so I don't have to go through the hassle of selling it on eBay--never done it before, but I imagine it being a lot of work. Am I wrong?

It's pretty easy. I have sold about 12 phones through ebay. I do it quite often. I usually only put them up for 24hrs. Then you get your money through paypal, and ship it. USPS has Priority shipping for like $8.

I just entered too...but cant tell if I made my essay 150 words :(.......man I would love to be a semifinalist.

Maybe I got a good chance, seeing how Philly and Baltimore are the only currently running 4G cities on the North East :D
