I’ve been wearing a very thin Noblia from Citizen for twenty years and I keep telling myself that I don’t need to anymore. But when its battery dies, I try life without it, feel naked, get a new battery and resume wearing it.

Now I wear one one of these...

i also own a g-shock as well.

i have been sort of always wanted a more stylish watch. i tend to like the non metallic bands. i tend to gravitate towards blue. i use it as both for function and coolness:smokebomb:

A classic Tag Heuer with a NATO strap band, or my baby G

Edit: just when it is fashionable, on occasion. When I go into a meeting, I like to keep my phone in front of me on the table, to keep an eye on time.
Most of the time though, knowing it is 'half past eight-ish' is enough for me.

Sometime when I go to work, because I don't always want to pull out my tablet to check the time. I pocket my tablet wherever I go.

we wondered what percentage of normal people wear watches

I love that you come to what is a fairly techie forum to find 'normal' people - what are watch lovers like? :vroam:

I think it's more a case of most people wear it on their non-dominant hand, where it gets in the way less often

My dad was left handed but wore his watch on the left coz everyone else seemed to .. then one day, he threw a ball .. and his watch :ciao:

I mostly wear a watch, but occassionally go without. My watches always have metal straps - I gave up on leather when I lived in Singapore: equatorial temperatures and leather straps don't mix .. or rather, you really don't want to know how it smells when they do :puke:

This is my watch. It was a first anniversary present. I feel lost without it... It's heavy but sturdy, nice looking (I get compliments on it all the time), long lasting with kinetic power, and always has the right date).

I have a Relic Garrett Stainless Steel Multifunction for most workdays. Gunmetal color with blue face. The rest of the time it's either no watch or I wear my Timex Perpetual Calendar watch with leather strap.

Never really wear a watch unless it's a formal occasion. Have been looking at the Pebble smart watch as well as waiting to see what others come out with

I wear one at work (FedEx delivery), for obvious reasons. It's a >$20 Casio analog cause I always scratch the face while working. I've even broken the face on two watches. I never wear one on the weekends or vacation. It's a purposeful decision to offset my daily need to know what time it is while working.

I wear a watch, but not everyday. I have a Fossil one which I wear to special occasions, and then randomly on days with no occasions.

I enjoy wearing a watch and have a modest collection of large stainless and a few titanium chronographs. I deal with all things digital constantly therefore I appreciate a precision made analog watch. Preferring a large somewhat heavy watch with a thick metal bracelet. My favorite brand is Breitling.

I used to have an amazing Snoopy watch (luv me sum Snoopy) and wore it every day for about 3 years. Then one day when I was cooking, it fell into the extremely hot deep fat fryer. I fished it out of the fryer as soon as possible (after about 10 minutes) and the leather band was fried crispy, but the watch was still ticking. Even if I would have ever tried to wear it again, it smelled funny, and would have oozed grease, so I trashed it, but I never bought another watch after that. No other could compare.:(

I used to have small, plastic wrist watches when I was young, I ended up phasing out of them due to having little need for one, as I grew accustomed to not having to know the time at that moment. However, about a year back, I found the need for a watch, due to having to enter areas which required me to have the time on the spot, and without the use of a cell phone.

I currently have this on my wrist, it feeds off my kinetic energy, thus no battery, no limitation.

I got it due to it's simple, yet industrial looks and feels...and after spending about 4 months watching this specific watch, along with about 50 or others as part of my job, when Nordstrom had it's annual anniversary sale, I ended up buying it for 70% off the regular price, stacked with an employee discount. It still ticks away and I constantly get compliments about it when others ask me if they can take a look at it. I love how I never have to worry about winding it, as long as it's attached to my person. I'm currently in the market for a sports watch, one that I can use when I'm doing work which involves getting my hands dirty, or when I run around the lake.

Mine is a Pebble Smart watch. It controls my music on my phone, displays current weather in Google Now card fashion, and tells decent time. Many times I find it cumbersome to pull out my phone, unlock and switch/pause music tracks or check weather/time so it's very neat
