Root [T-Mobile] stock recovery

im looking for stock recovery for the sgh-m919n the metro pcs gs4. will the t-mobile one work and if so where could i find it.
 
You can install CF-Auto-Root and it will install a stock recovery. I don't think there is any difference in stock recoveries.

If you want to pay for mobile odin, you can use it to just flash the stock recovery. You would have to download the whole firmware and put it on your sd card. Mobile Odin separates it all so you could just flash the recovery that way. The problem is there is no stock firmware for the Metro S4 that I know of.
 
thanks i have mobile odin. can you still get ota updates after root?
i was going to flash cwm and pull the rom off the phone and put it up for download. but i would still like to recive ota updates. i've read your root guide.
 
I think you'll get a message that the phone has been modified if you try OTA. If you do, you could Odin back to the stock firmware or wait for the update to get put on sammobile and install it with odin.
 
since I'm new to the s4 and tmobile is there suppose to be another update for the tmobile s4 or something?

Edit found my answer looks to be the app to sd update with some other minor changes looks good weird tmobile doesn't have this update yet :(

Yeah I don't understand it either. The other carriers released it weeks ago. Maybe they are just waiting on the 4.3 update.

You should try chainfire's Google+ page or the mobile odin thread at xda and mention it. He's pretty good about updating things. I don't understand why it wouldn't work. Its just like the Tmobile phone isn't it?

That's a possibility also from what I read it mentions wifi calling as being in the way of this update I'm sure we will get it maybe tmobile has been busy with the lte rollout and metropcs deal who knows I want the update since it will also gives us more options on the camera and smoother scrolling
